^^^ I think he said he broke his helmet.

Damn, it must be frustrating just missing that coveted Darwin Award.

Saw a snowboarder sit down and start sliding down Shaft one of our double blacks, only to see he had brought a crew (5-7) and they all proceeded to sit and slide all the snow off. Not one thought to just say no and hike out.

I can't stand when riders do that to powdery steeps. They probably all took POV shots to upload to Insta and got mad likes.

Ha. Back when I was riding, I was in an early morning powder race at Jackson, and darted into Pepi's and proceeded to beat two skiers down that little chute near the top, and sit on my heel side and eliminate most of the snow in there most of the way down. I looked up to see two skier faces cursing me. Ha.

"I think we're in over our heads."
Says hockey jersey wearing snowboarder who has just taken a good beater to his hockey jersey wearing snowboarder buddy.

(Overheard while riding on a lift going over a moderate, wide blue)

But to be honest, you're never going to get better if you're not over your head once in a while.
And beater-boarder was aware enough of his personal envelope, so points to him there.

I was deep in gape country today at Blue Mountain PA. Heard several gems from the family of 5 I rode up the 6 person chair with.

They were discussing their upcoming trip to Colorado as we passed over the only run on the whole mountain that had any soft snow. It was a pretty fun little shot of semi-bumped up man made "pow" that was totally un-groomed.

"Look there is someone cross country skiing!" (as a tele whacker skied past)

"Let's not do that run! It's too deep!"

"Yeah, they really need a zamboni or something to smooth it out."

    They were definitely not joking.

How could you see that glorious set up on not one, but two!, pairs of skis, and not stick around to see them in action?

    Buttermilk? Beaver Creek??
They are about to have a serious reality check...
