Had a customer tell me that her ski instructor showed her places that "Weren't on the map" today... And another custo pointed at a pair of Sketcher's shape ups and asked her for her Skeetchers

Two quotes from yesterday that happen annually...took awhile this year!
"wow, nice water skis" referring to my Goats
"Are moguls sculpted by a machine?" to his equally clueless companion

I got a "those are the skis we need for powder" at the Basin yesterday. I was on a 95 waisted ski.

Also, a snowboarder told my wife he and his buddies were going to duck a rope. When my wife mentioned that that might not be a good idea he replied that his board was already scratched so it was fine.

The family has requested that this video be taken down. I did PM Denver Gaper--no response. Maybe someone here knows how to get rid of it.
I hit the report spam button. I know it's not actually spam, but I figure at least it will draw attention to those who can edit / delete it.

Now if everyone who quoted that most could edit theirs to remove the link as well...

Meh to this. 95 could be a good powder ski. It only seems silly because there are skis with 120 + waists. Don't forget, not too long ago, when girls were girls and men were men, people skied powder on 75 inch waists. I know it sounds crazy though.
Took me like 10 minutes to figure out how to change this shit

Some old dude/chick couldn't really tell, was out in the tiniest fucking Snowblades I have ever seen, yesterday. Here's the kicker: old school National Ski Patrol down jacket. Open of course, because it was around 30 or higher. And poles, of course.

You ain't savin shit. Take that jacket off.

its been a while since this happened, just forgot about this thread but.....

after the first significant snowfall in a long while, waiting for a buddy at mid-gad

i see a gaped out dude cussing a storm and kicking his bindings trying to clip in, with his buddy on his hands and knees directing his boot "wait, wait, almost there, push!!" "DAMMIT, FUCKING BULLSHIT"

a give these guys a look over and the pissed one clearly just bought everything (brand new steep tech jacket, boots, skis, marker tours, full pack, harness, ice axe, double helmet go-pros, one forward one back) EPIC.

so after a bit I figure i would try to be friendly given it was a good day and nothing worse than fucking with gear on those days even if they are gapers

"So whats going on fellas?" "THESE FUCKING BOOTS DONT FIT!!" Ok, so I take a closer look and they are out of adjustment by maybe 4 clicks. "Well your bindings aren't adjusted right." "THATS FUCKING BULLSHIT, I JUST SPENT 4 FUCKING HOURS AT CHRISTY AND THEY DONT WORK!!!!!" "Look dude there is bench right there, just back it out a turn and it will work fine" "I CANT DO THAT, THEY SAID IF I ADJUST THEM THEY WONT WARRANTY THEM!!!!"

I try to explain to him that is not true, but he insist and explains to me that he already broke a pair of tours this morning and these are replacements.

So he continues to kick the shit out of the toe piece trying to get his boot in. For sure going to break these bindings. So I say "Look they won't know the difference if you turn the screw once. Do you have a screwdriver? I will do it for you"

He looks at me exasperated and says "I have fucking everything else except for a screwdriver."

At this point I can help it and have to ski away and immediately break out in laughter.

My buddy who caught most of the action just blankly looks at me and says "what the fuck was that?"

We spent the rest of the day cussing at christy sports and coming up with ridiculous "i have everything but....." HAHAHAHA

Came out from lunch today. You know how people sometimes separate their skis so they won't get stolen. I see a single skinny ski sticking up above most others around it.

Guy separated his Rossi 4S's so they wouldn't get stolen. We're talking straight skis from the 80s or 90s. Not even the kinda cool teal ones (nor the more recent replica of that) - these were the gray/black striped ones.

I am an industrial design student at Kendall College of Art & Design working on the research portion of my thesis project. I am researching snow sports equipment management, and need snow sports enthusiasts to take my zoomerang survey.

    http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22EQHJPWSSE

    …or….

    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/Embed/WEB22ERUC6QWX8/"></script><noscript><a href="http://www.zoomerang.com/">Online Surveys</a></noscript>

Please pass on the link to anyone you know who enjoys snow sports such as skiing, snowboarding, etc. who might be willing to participate.

    Thanks!

so if i see those pictures correctly he has two gopros and a countour. but it also looks like in the outdoor picture on his right foot he has a third go pro shooting up his legs. Sniper on the grassy knoll gopro theory.

The pictures were great. The story is even better. Funny shit.

I hope the guy at Christy that sold the gear to that guy gets commission.

Never have been to the resort in question (with Mr. GoPro) and I'm wondering about all that gear. A climbing harness? Must be seriously badass terrain you guys have there.

Epic convergence of two threads and two maggots. Fucking epic.

What mountain is Mr. Gopro skiing? In the original thread where those pics were posted, there was mention of Snowbird and Haines.

This reminds me - the other day at the Shine, walking to the chair for checks. Mtn is empty (as it tends to be before lifts open). I see one ski in a rack. I look around a little, confused, and spot the other one maybe 40-50ft away. They were literally the only skis on all of the racks. I'm pretty sure their owner is a genius.
