dynafit grief
I was out touring last week and I had a new problem with my dynafit's
When the heel piece was in its lowest tour position snow would pack in under my heel until it was the same hight as the middle setting then it would break off and spin the binding into ski mode. This really started to piss me off. Has anyone had this problem and found a remedy. I tried treating the sole of my boot and the binding with no luck.
Thanks for the help

How did you treat the sole of your boot and binding? Pam or Silicon
spray might make a difference.
You could also up your lateral din to make the binding harder to rotate, though not ideal.
May be you were just in super moist, funky snow conditions.

I've had that happen on two tours (now going into my fourth Dynafit season, and with over half a million vertical), although oddly enough, one was just two days ago.
I think brakes increase the "auto-rotate" propensity, although on both tours I was brakeless.
And as HtS noted, silicon spray can help, although the tours I experienced auto-rotate the main culprit was exactly the super moist, funky snow conditions and spending lots of time on the flats.
The solution two days ago was pretty simple though: I was already on a wee bit of an uphill, so I just went from the perfectly flat elevator position to the middle position.

This happens in moist funky Whistler-type snow. I spray the binders with a lubricant to help keep the snow off and preserve that oh-so-fresh feeling.

I use Pedro's bike clean because it has a shiny wax-like finish. I spray down the toe pieces and heel pieces of the binders to help stop ice formation.

Thanks for the advice, this is my second season on dynafits and the first time with this problem. I was on a 5 day traverse in the kootenays and only had duct tape and olive oil.
Neither really worked so spent most of the time with my heel raised one step. I'll give the bike lube a go. Thanks
