Best books for Avy info
Lookin for a good book on Avalanches....More of the basic kind of stuff for someone who knows next to nothing, but will soon be getting into the backcountry...

Z - I'd recommend Staying Alive in Avalanche Terrain by Bruce Tremper.

It's a big book that covers everything from glisading to avy safety to knots to first aid. It is the bible of mountain travel and is invaluable reading for anyone spending time in the backcountry.Originally posted by homerjay
