Check in ASAP with Vail Powder guides, Ben and Jenna will put you in some sweet terrain and NO lines. Breck will be a total F gong show.

should be epic, with lots of fresh snow, we haven't had any wind at all, and since breck is totally played out everyone is going to be at beaver creek over the holidays, plus some season pass black out days, cold ass temps to boot all those texans will be too busy drinking and shopping, I think breck will be perfect a not to miss adventure of a lifetime for the new year, if breck isn't up to your standards whne you get here keystone is 80% open with plenty of rocks and tree stumps

They have had more snow this season than they have had this early in the past 10 years, according to their website.

Here's a little edit from the day, sorry about the 340p Youtube wouldn't let me upload an HD version for some reason, most likely because the video started out with my cannon and not the gopro)
    edit: apparently its HD now

We're seeing some non-propagating breakage low down below treeline today (N and NE) in the Vail area. The new snow is settling into a cohesive slab. Will be interesting to see how sketchy it gets when this next series of storms rolls through. Guessing we'll see a good uptick in activity. Won't be in town to see it in person though.

Will this damage be high terrain accumulation or of the wind slab variety?

    Thanks for clarifying

No F'n natural here in the Green Mountains for the wind to work at all.
Hoping to beat you Buffaloes to the A lift goods all next week.

    Cheers ... Happy Festivus !

No one goes to Breckenridge over the holidays because it is too crowded.

It will be really good at Breckenridge, unless it isn't.

Snowed hard at times on Berthoud today, then the sun would poke through. It got warm, then cold, then warm, then snow. Hopefully it'll just snow and be cold.
