After some real sloppy, lousy attempts at skiing in the last several weeks, the snow (whats left of it) seems to be coming around right at the end. Finally consolidating with improved ski conditions.
Had a nice run on Geneva Pk on Sat, heard similar reports of better skiing on Bald Mtn, Argentine Pk & several other locations around the county. This kid's about done, but it's nice to get a couple easy runs in after some funky June conditions.

The E face of Baldy....just saw his answer. That line off Guyot looks spicy.

Still a lot of snow up around Brainard / Isabelle / Blue Lake.
Lots of groups up there getting after it lately

Hope this wind direction changes. I'm 2 miles outside Denver and can barely see the city bc of the Canadian wildfires. This sucks.

crazy weather... July in Denver, mid 60's today with pouring rain and my grass is still green.
High pressure due this weekend to heat things back up and push the smoke back to Canada, I hope as this smoke is killing my allergies, I should be an extra in an Cheech and Chong movie by the look of my eyes.

53 and rain all day in Vail. Vail Grind cancelled saying the condition of mountain too bad. This is reminding me of last August.

Humidity in Denver the past 2 days has consistently been above 70% (at 90% right now) and we haven't seen higher than 74 degrees in more than 48 hours.
Absurd for mid July.

Felt like Seattle in Telluride all weekend. Monday was humid as fuck - like being in the south. Felt like my shirt was wet before I started sweating on the bike. That world cup DH trail was fucking awesome though, not to mention free. Haven't biked in steady rain like that in a long time. Was kinda fun relearning how to smash through slippery roots out near Alta lakes. Mosquitos were pretty bad in spots on the Deep Creek side.

^^^that sucks!
Was hiking on Flattop earlier. Weather was decent up there until after noon. Nice to get a break in the constant gloom.
Was soaking my feet in Bear Lake while looking at Longs. Some dumb tourist asked me what that peak was. And then asked has anyone ever climbed it 😖

Wet and cold as fuck in the San Juans the last couple days. Freezing rain into snow above 13k during the evening yesterday made for a cold Handies hike today. Seems to be clearing out right now so maybe we'll get some blue skies for Wetterhorn tomorrow.

If today counts as the dog days, then keep 'em coming. Weather was calm, the rain stayed away, and nobody on the singletrack. Temp showed 59 at Eagle's Nest around 5pm.
I also noticed NWS came down 5-10 degrees with temps this week, compared to what they had up this past weekend.

I think we had our Dog Days in June. Doubt it will get the F'n hot again (let's hope).
Anyone else notice how lush the forest is right now? It's like a damn jungle out there!!

Got in a 3 hr ride, right before some light rain moved in, ran a few errands, then went to the Tiki Bar for 4 rounds of solid sunny cocktails, still sitting on the deck enjoying the views. Who said it was gonna be a rainy day? One of the best of summer IMHO.

Rode Whiskey Creek last week and it's shoulder high. Crazy for this late in the season.
