It’s amazing that people think skiing that terrain on Berthoud right now with the current pack we have is smart. What the fuck did they think would happen?

So the whole Birds of Prey weekend pretty much got fucked? Or do they move the races to tomorrow and Tuesday?

Nursing some painful parts this year so passed on voly’n. I would be fairly disappointed to bust my ass for no racing. The racers have to be really bummed as much as they like this race.

Are minds are always blown by those that make different decisions that we would. The bad news is we are never off the hook. We gotta use our skills and knowledge to make objectively better choices. Saw that a friend went poking around a mellow zone off Monarch Pass this morning. He reported lots of whumphs and cracks, and it looked like if where he was skiing was any steeper it might have (probably would have) slid. Parroting Foggy Goggles: Be educated, pay attention, make good decisions. As for me, we've still got (mostly) dry dirt so I'm riding. I guess I'll ski Wednesday, if I have to.

I haven't skied the pass since they did all the thinning in/near PT..did they remove/burn most of what they cut down, or is it mostly on the ground and takes a lot of snow to cover?

Buddy said they're shooting it a bunch today, but will be probably wednesday since they have to set up ropes and groom the track goin up

All removed. They went in with fancy cut-to-length machines and basically removed as they harvested, from my understanding. It still skis pretty well, but what I hear from folks in town that've been here longer than me is that it holds less snow than it used to... it gets more wind affected now. Which makes sense.

I had 18 cords delivered by semi $70/cord of Perfect trees some are calling it the Zebra's now
