Too hot too soon. Kinda sucks. Some rivers are exceeding there record daily highs (for the given date). Easing into run off is much preferred. The snowpack is not getting a good overnight freeze. I could do with another month of snow. Winter kicked ass but it has snowed substantially less than normal since the middle of March.

global warming sucks, we used to ski till july every year, now it's over before end of may.

Perhaps, living in Chicago makes it a little more difficult. I booked every weekend thru May 4th, using point on Southwest. If I don't use them, they just go back into my account.
But I still have to do a long distance, cost benefit analysis every weekend and I just don't like what I'm seeing with this dust layer. It ain't like just walking out the door.

It should 83 today at my place.
Man, it’s been fun on the hill this year with a lot of stellar days, but it’s tough to stay in the snow mindset when its pool weather down here.

Certainly not the cool wet spring like last year. But every year is different and we could still get cool wet weather in May.

Any idea how much terrain they're opening on Ajax?
-
04-26-2014, 06:19 PM #16045
I don't think they have announced any terrain specifics other than "as much as possible" but the lifts running will be the gondola, FIS, Ruthie's and Ajax Express.
Lots of terrain on the lower mountain is getting pretty bare (Niagara, Slalom Hill, 1A, etc) but the usual stuff up top (face/back/ridge of bell, Walsh's/Kristi, some of the dumps and so on) should be good to go, especially if we get the 12+ inches they're forecasting.

If it comes that way from Alta you should be good. 6" this morning, snowed off and on all day, and another 8-12" tonight. Fun stuff.

Any reports from LL or AB? Is the crust covered? Was chair 9 socked in? Did lower or upper East wall open?
