Berry Creek is ready in Edwards and I'm pretty sure Boneyard in Eagle is ready or will be in the next few days.

snow farming begins at vail tomorrow. they'll move snow from some runs to others to keep the mountain open until close.

^^^ yeah pretty windy all day today and pretty dusty too. I was told they were going to mainly work on keeping one main route from the top of 4 down to the village and down to Lionshead open and that would be that....2 WRODs basically below mid vail.

Near 80 and sunny all week? Officially trading in the weekend ski plans for pool parties and Rockies games. Here's to a better season come fall.

yep, hazy with dust here...looks like the snowpack is going to go even quicker

Dust is perfect. Then we can just stop worrying about it. It will melt away quickly and we can hurry up and get to mountain biking.

Word was the cat roads back in Vail pass were almost down to dirt, Vail powder cats almost could not get the Yurt out.

The winter that never was?

... I had some great days though.

Hit some balls and played 3 holes in some British Open type wind. The old saying is "It's not that you can't play in the wind, it's that you can't play and the wind proves it." This winter has been like a whack to the nuts week after week after week [/butthurt].

Winter is over and fire season has officially begun. Big ass fire south of Conifer. Smaller fires popping up all over. Fire season in March. Sigh...

Who was it that posted in this thread that front rangers don't care about fires, only watering their lawns? ::

Thanks again Blizzard of Oz for the SWE charts. This tells me we're fucked this summer in terms of it being unusually dry, unless there is a major change in the weather pattern. Predictions are trending towards ENSO neutral which IMHO is worse than a strong LA or El Nino for bringing precipitation. As someone else replied before, we are at the low end of the cycle.

So do I blame myself for the jinx?

Powtron, it looks like you got the smoke much worse than I did in Trailmark. That shot of Wads didn't look anything similar a couple miles north, totally clear.

Yeah, it was crazy once we got through it and up by the Chatfield entrance it was completely clear. Very streamlined smoke trail yesterday.
