Yeah snowed lightly up here today. Over running event as Vail Pass was warmer and drier than the W side of the pass

Why is it that it's usually colder at The Beav than at Vail? (on any given similar aspect). I was really happy the coverage this past sunday at the Beav. Hill is in great shape. Won't be back until Jan. 1st. though.

Maybe because the bowl between strawberry park, grouse, larkspur, and top of centennial keeps all the cold air trapped in that area?

Idk maybe it's just a figment of your imagination.

Also could have something to do with the cold air flowing down valley from vail?

Does more terrain face north and gets less midwinter sun all day?

GFS calling for big accumulations 5 days out means a near-certain fizzle. The hivemind collectively decided to write off the season a month ago anyway so what's the difference?

Light showers today at Snowmass, then it got cold around 2 and the snow got more intense. Still kinda bushy on the Burn but the snow is fantastic.

Got a little rain/sleet in vail village around 4. Hopefully it was just way down low.

Vail and EV are skiing pretty damn good right now.

It has been raining in Maui a veritable fuckton, and that means snow in all our favorite places.

This thing is gaining hype by the day. Surprised at the relative warmth predicted given it's route from the N.

Xmas week, of course it's gaining hype. Weatherman's bread is buttered by Vail Resorts

Is this looking like a west-of-the-divide storm or are the foothills/cities getting in on the action?

Holy shit. Sleeper day at MJ today, wasn't expecting it to be this good. First real deal pow day of the seaon for me. Pretty new to WP/MJ scene so know shit for names but whatever that pillow zone skiers left and below the snow stake cam (lookers right of challenger) is called is awesome.

Under the lift? Is that what they call freeriders?

Pretty good week here in CB under a favorable wind direction- 31" at Irwin in the past week. Unfortunately we had a slide with an injury yesterday, if the rumor mill is correct, the skier caught knows his shit, and has been skiing around here for decades. Keeping my fingers crossed that this next storm has a good W component to it, not just the dreaded NW.

Not really under the lift. Eastsoutheast face between challenger and super gauge about half way down.

Ah, if we're thinking the same area(top of knoll direct skiers right from Pony Express, drop you into Sleeper trees), then yeah, that is a sick little zone! Lots of little rocks and logs to drop off.
