It's rained almost everyday in Summit and Clear Creek counties for the past two or three weeks. Some nights as well.

Sooo...the drought has really affected the foliage conditions for sure down here in the Front Range.

August 10th and 98 Degrees down here in Broomfield and lots of trees are starting to change already.

Same thing going on up high?

Just started noticing that up here, too.... we have some Cottonwood leaves that are already changing, and it hasn't even been that hot recently.

Good to know it's happening elsewhere, I was starting to think we were losing some branches.

I like the early, as it's hard for me to get many days during a good april or may.

So guess i'll take the slide risk and hope nobody gets hurt.

Dog has been shedding for a couple weeks now, which seems early. Plus as mentioned, the trees are trying to turn, but most likely just drought for that.

Nice try. It's actually coming from the fires all across the West. It's ridiculously hazy down in town this week. Hopefully the cold front sweeps it all out tomorrow.

I spent a couple weeks in Lake City this summer, which is an hour out of gunnison, alpine loop away from silverton. I was there in early july, and again at the beginning of august. The past ten years its been like a desert there in the summer, this year it was cold and rainy both times. I mean freezing balls on an atv ride in august! Saw a broken down sled, with keys and gas, right after you drop the back of Roundtop Mtn. Anyway, don't know what this means but thought i would share.

Funken, how is it looking around Aspen? How much longer before peak color?

Peak will be a week or two early, you see stuff in the Crystal turning already, the scrub oak and service berry type stuff is going to be full on in a week and a half or two. Aspens are usually a week or two after that up high.

Sept 15-20 probably. There are a lot of Aspens changing on Smuggler already. There's been a huge change in the last 4 days.

CB had started showing off up on Kebler and Schofield, aspens and the scrub. Eagle County hasn't done much yet. A tree here or there but that is about it for now.

Was hiking today in the Arapahoe Pass area in IPW. Some aspens and scrub turning and tundra looking reddish..definately a few weeks early.

Will be spending the weekend outside of Crystal, hoping for less masses camping due to it being out of the way and my penchant for driving up shit to camp that most mortal men will not attempt .

Early foliage will be good...while not peak, obviously it will still be darn purdy.

Fall is coming! First trees are changing color in west vail. Bushes are getting their fall colors in mass. Did notice that some aspen leaves up at beaver creek are fading much more than turning colorful.

Arms are tanned from lawn care. The pegs.................. ghost white. But we're all good. Still wearing the carhart pants. All tho I am rethinking the insulated version today.
