I don't buy that Watch ....AT ALL. Jaded after this winter but 4-6" MAX....SW, E, and N winds don't provide much snow for our zone....we'll see. I bet our zone is downgraded to a advisory as it gets closer...5-10 is more reasonable.

It was snowing hard during the Grace Potter show at Vail tonight. I'm not getting my hopes up.

an inch at the house last night, first time I've seen snow in a LONG time. They upgraded to a warning but I still don't see those totals...maybe we'll get lucky, we deserve one lucky storm right?

looks like NOAA is on board for this storm, this is for frisco in town:

Saturday Night: Snow. Low around 22. Northwest wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

not sure if I agree with that much west of the divide but we can only hope.

10-20 has become 6-12"... I say we're lucky if we get 6". At this point, the moisture is more important than the ski conditions.

^^ Totally agree on the moisture. It's only a dangerous dirt cover at this point.

Are people still feeling bearish on this one for Summit/Eagle?

Beaver Creek skied pretty well this morning actually, soft snow, good groomers, and good (relatively) coverage. Skied Vail in the afternoon and it was poor to quite poor. Horrible coverage, no soft snow, just bad really. However the crawfish and PBRs at Moes later were freaking $$$. It snowed this morning and then stopped but has just started snowing again, maybe, just maybe tomorrow will be a powederish day.

It was snowing just about the hardest all season about 20 minutes ago. Or I've forgotten what snow looks like. Almost an inch in town and still snowing. I am completely indifferent to it right now.

At least this cold spell kept 4 open for tomorrow.

it did snow pretty good for about an hour or so but then it quit at the house. Hoping it picks up tonight like the say, but still pretty iffy imo, due to the flow.

a legit 7 up top at Beaver Creek yesterday morning and I'd say 7 at Vail by the time the afternoon came around. Good way to end the lift served year.

Closing day at Silverton was pretty sick yesterday. Legit knee deep in RopeDe1 and Cabin. Crushed a few pillows and a couple small cliffs. Great way to close out a shitty lift-served year. Touring up on Uneva today. Get out your skins and shred this short lived pow.

Anyone been up to Ashcroft area, or anywhere relatively close by from the Crested Butte side? E.g. Star Peak, Castle, Pearl Pass, etc? How far up Castle Creek road can you drive? What approximate elevation is snow line at this point? Are high elevation and shaded aspects holding decent snow? And, is anyone getting out and skiing and able to report on conditions in the Elks?

Any beta appreciated as we try to figure out our options for weekend at Lindley hut.

You can drive to the end of the pavement. After that, there are intermittent snow patches until the first creek crossing. High elevation and shady aspects have low snowpack and are super sugary. I would stick to east faces.

Apparently, Alabama has destroyed the controversial BCS trophy which was long thought to be a source of unfavorable winter weather conditions here in Colorado. This means that Colorado will be returning to a favorable weather pattern in the near future as the "Roll Tide Curse of Montanaskier" has been lifted......for now.
