Yay dust! The trifecta of wind, low snowfall, and dust has created the shittiest winter in recorded history!

Can't wait for bike season, it's just going to be hard to decide where to ride this year, what with all the forest fires and such.

Glad I didn't wash the car yet. I might be spending part of Sunday finally getting my mtb gear out of the closet and ready to go again. Wednesday or Thursday could be good days for buff creek.

It's been challenging, but it ain't even close to the worst. 77 and 81 were both much worse, mostly because snowmaking and grooming have improved so much.

Get ready for dust on Saturday night and Sunday. Winds during this time will be very strong from the south. Another powdery storm for Wolf Creek Sunday afternoon and Monday morning...and not a whole lot north of there. Ugh!

No reason at all to be on the snow before 11AM.

That's totally location/exposure dependent. There are plenty of places I wouldn't want to be on after 11?

Yeah, I was told Aspen didn't have a hard freeze overnight. It will suck if it goes isothermal this early?

There's plenty of flakes there all ready.

In three days of running summer-like groomers I got hit by a bar twice and had countless
gapers randomly changing their death-grip traverse on all aspects.

This one crew from "Nothern Eurup" Hit me in the middle of the back with the thing before I even sat down.

The crowds were low but the mouth-breathing index was high.

    Careful!

Breck actually skied pretty well today for not having snow in so long. Wind has helped. Mtn biking injury from last weekend kept me from sending anything big to hardpack in the Lake Chutes, but if there's ever a good time for hardpack hucking, it's now. Got out my Head 103s and had a blast. We'll see how Vail is tomorrow.

The slot has been nice corn by 11. Stay up late at the Windows deck and wail off the rollers on Pickeroon after the Mountain clears out by 4:30

Headwall is gone. 50% dirt. Some guys shoveled snow at the bottom of apres vous to keep it open ( at least for a few days). I will agree with cramp about the slot, it'll be nice. Campbells will ski nice late afternoon. Raspy's is dirt, it was fun slush while it lasted last week. Front side groomers could be boilerplate or corn depending on how warm it gets tomorrow.

I'm going to moab next week. I love skiing even when it's bad, but I need a break from the stress these conditions are causing me.

This is pretty darn depressing. So I'm locked into eagle/summit county April 7-14. I hope there is something to ski.

A lot can change between now and then, but it's looking pretty damn grim right now.

It's too bad you guys live in the mountains, or else you could just go mountain biking instead of bitching about the shitty snow conditions. 75, sunny, and 100% dry trails down here in town.

Breck was fun if you followed the softening snow.
Perhaps I'll go to Valmont tonight...

    Any dust observations up there?

Nice day on the FR for mtb and hiking. Been that way all week.

Is it even worth skiing when it's like this? I'm heading to Denver the first week of April for college stuff and I had planned to leave a day for skiing, but I might not bother at this point.

It was 66 when I was leaving Eagle this afternoon about 4:30p. Upvalley we have lost so much snow cover in the past 48hrs it is just depressing. Getting the bike ready.

60s in gunny yesterday and hartman rocks is pretty dry...I bet my drive to the TH is shorter than yours too considering the traffic on the front range
