Crested Butte's about to get some snow Sun-Tues:

looks like a good shot of snow Tues-Wed. I would hope for a foot above say 10k. The real positive part is that it looks colder and like systems might stay on a normal track for awhile.

Anyone know the long range snowfall forecast for I-70 resorts in CO? Maybe through about this Dec or Jan.

Maybe an inch or two up high so far. The radar is starting to get more active.

still a strong SW flow in Eagle County, we won't get much until the wind shifts to the north/nw.

Where'd you find these totals? I looked all over and couldn't find anything. Good to see some resorts getting snow.

9news.com although Telluride is reporting 27"+ up top.

Based on the "Heavy Snow" observation at Loveland Pass for the last several hours on NOAA.com (and the fact that it snowed until I left around 1:30), I think Loveland could rack up 5-10" for tomorrow's snow report.

That observation is actually at Copper Mountain @ 12,400 ft.

Yeah, I know- so if its snowing at Copper, its coming down harder at Loveland.

From Weather.com

Rain and mountain snow will accompany this system along with significantly lowering snow levels. In fact the snow levels in the Washington Cascades will be 4000 feet by Sunday.

As the system exits into the southern Plains Monday, snow will linger in parts of Wyoming and Colorado.

The barrage of storms will not quit in the Pacific Northwest as at least 3 more storms of varying intensities take aim on the region Monday through next Thursday.

I'm not too familiar with the exact patterns of weather in Colorado region so I don't know if the strongest storms come from the PNW, but it can hurt that there will be a bunch of storms coming across washington and down into CO....

NRCS says that snow depth at berthoud is about 4"
Loveland basin about 13"
and Jones pass about 13"

this storm doesn't look real promising right now. Next weekend looks like high pressure and warm temps.

I agree with your latter assessment, but disagree about this week.

^^^ hope so, I'm ready to skin after the disaster that was Keystone yesterday.

Two interesting NOAA observations.

1) Good for them in upgrading the point forecast with Google maps. Makes for a great interactive feature that really lets you zoom in on a locale.

2) Did they not issue a Winter Outlook this year? Usually, it comes out in the middle of October and is updated at the middle of this month, but it is not to be found in their Expert Assessments link.
