What he said. First run in those Aspen trees was one of the best runs of my life. Skiing the rest of the day was great as well, but it tracked out and warmed up fast. My first run over there in Sundown was beyond ridiculous deep blower goodness.

    I was there.

One of the coolest experiences I've ever had was the first run in Sundown...about 30 people all going down at once, in the white room, wooping it up...incredible feeling

so true! All morning I kept hitting lesser know stashes and was shocked they were already tracked. Very local crowd - was fun!

I wasn't one of those 30, but I was there soon after.... and holy shit that run was DEEP. Easily waist to chest deep, and I choked on snow the entire way down.

It was awesome to hear people yelling and hollering all morning. Snow, we've missed you this year- it was nice of you to show your face at least once.

x2 on MJ being the best of the year for me. Full disclosure, I did miss the 16" overnight Monday locals only earlier, but I didn't cross a track for the first 6 runs until I got down to cats back to the chairs. Bamboo-glad I caught up with ya, fun line through Tophers'.

Might have made my top 10 list, in terms of shit-eating-grins/run today. Thanks for the admonitions Gratzo!!

Unbelievable today. I chose sun up over sun down since I wanted to make it back to BSB as quickly as possible. A good 2 feet on the slot. Ghengis Kahn was DEEP.

I was up there as well. Really good off Zuma cornice. Rolled in @ 9:30 and got a 3rd row spot. Cant wait for the hawaiian shirts and BBQs but I'll take a pow day in April, one of the better days of the winter so far

    Shrednar,
Do you know a ripper named Ben whos from SLC/FtCo? May have skied w/ him in RMNP last June. He mentioned your handle when I asked if he was a maggot.

Hmmm, I don't know. Doesn't ring a bell. I haven't skied in RMNP before so probably not.

Had a great time up there yesterday. Never even went back to zuma. Lapped pali and some sidecountry all day long.

well its pretty warm in vail. getting manky pretty much everywhere already. even high steep north facing stuff was less than spectacular given the recent dumpage.

on the plus side, vail announced that they will keep sunup, teacup and skyline open until closing day. which is really pretty sick. i seriously wish theyd reconsider and open 21 instead of 17 though. chair 17 doesn't really access any terrain that 5 and teacup conbined dont get you to and then it'd be reasonable to do EV from the top of 21 if it snows. its a far walk from teacup....

gonna be really warm and springy for awhile. Even the small system at the first of the week doesn't look really cold. The Beav closes Sunday then a rowdy closing at Fail the next week. Good Times ahead.

sunny and really warm tomorrow to shut down the Beav. RAIN mainly below 10k for the early week storm and then to shut down Vail next weekend looks warm and rainy as well.

We don't need any of that!

I'm heading back out for the last bonus weekend. I hope the weather is nice, I haven't had hardy any spring skiing!

Closing day was a blast, but the snow is melting fast and it's pretty sloppy up there. At least yesterday was a real spring day - bluebird and 55 deg.

FKNA awesome day yesterday at the Beav. Sunny, warm, slushy, good times. Small storm tonight thru Tues night. Cooler but not a lot of snow and some rain to start. Looks unsettled thru the weekend but I hope it clears out and warms up for closing day at Vail on Sunday. After that....CORN please!
