Dowd Junction- closed as well. Looks like all those poor saps are stuck in Vail for a while.

VP is only closed WB and for an accident. Looks like its snowing but not dumping up there. Pass should be open before long.

cotrip.org is now saying VP is closed in both directions.

I'm down valley working and it has come in waves down here...light snow then NUKING. Looks like it's done the same thing up valley. Headed that way in about an hour.

I wouldn't count on it. The scanner is absolutely nuts. I feel for the woman in labor trying to get from downvalley to the VVMC. Looks like they got an escort for her.

The semi carnage on VP seems moderate.

It's not just the news selling "snowmageddon", it really is an insane cluster with huge storms. Believe it or not, we have way more non-snow gapers down here than you do. People in EC get used to snow, they get used to snowpacked roads, if they are driving a FWD car with shitty tires, they know what is going to happen and prepare for it. The news goes crazy down here because the level of gaperdom is off the fucking charts. We are not snow country down here, which makes a huge difference (not to mention that I think our roads tend to be icier in storms because they are warmer).

My roommate drove to the airport and back, and counted dozens of cars abandoned on 36. They got stuck, couldn't go anywhere, and so they just left them. How often does that happen up there?

Looks like Vail Pass has opened going Westbound. Still closed Eastbound, but thats Ok cuz I am headed West!

10-12" fresh in Mongolia @ 3pm. cold.

6" and counting...still coming in from the NW.
Light and dry as well, I can't even make a snowball out of the fresh stuff.

Beav got about 7" at mid mountain I'd guess. Not too heavy either.

appears that most of the activity now is to the south and west...perhaps Aspen is getting the goods. Kinda quiet in EC this afternoon. Maybe it'll start back up again tonight.

Maybe 4" on the mountain since 3PM. Highlands reported 3" from this morning.

looks like most of the action is done. Some showery stuff upstream but nothing organized. Expect an off and on shower tonight and tomorrow before it clears out. At least that is my guess....maybe I'm wrong. Another nice shot of snow today...these little storms are keeping things decent and in generally pretty good shape. Keep it up ULLR.

8-10 in town. Looks like it should snow for at least a few more hours. Might be the biggest 24 hour snow total this year for tride.

Looks like another crapfest for Loveland and A-Basin... I think I'll ski Sunday with the warm temps instead.

Will second the absolute nukage observation for Telluride. I'm guessing 13 to 17 for the 24 hour total. It hasn't stopped all day. Gotta love the 3 to 7 forecast now.

Monarch had maybe 4 to 6" of fresh by 7pm at the bottom, Crested got jack squat.

VAil posted 10" and BC 9" - I think i'll do the drive to Beaver because I just hate the shit outta dealing w/ Vail.
