    Thanks for sharing. We had a little snow in Utah last month but it's balmy now. Seeing these photos makes me want to return to Graubunden- I spent some time near Laax and fell in love with the area.

    So what is it that makes Bivio so special? I just visited their website, and it doesn't look like such a great ski area. I'm not resort snob, and I definitely recognize that all it takes is a T-bar in the right location to have some fun, but it doesn't look like Bivio has access to much interesting terrain. It looks like mostly intermediate runs (actually the trail map is all red), and there doesn't seem to be much hike-to potential.

    Note: This isn't meant to be critical (although it came out that way). Really, I'm just curious about a place I've never heard of.

    Bivio rules dude, some of the best ski touring in that part of swisserland. Euro trail maps really don't mean shit. And the hike to skiing off the area is superb. Bivio seems to get a little more snow due to how its situated.

    your right. bivio is just a small place. just three t-bars. but a lot of freeride places accessible from the t-bars. and, no crowd. after new snowfall you can ride offpiste two days without riding the same trail two times. and without sharing it with other riders. this makes bivio so special. and as ted says "And the hike to skiing off the area is superb. Bivio seems to get a little more snow due to how its situated."

    sweet, any more info on bivio? looks in the same "general" area as andermatt. went there last year in feb (after that monster dump) and had a blast.

    no, it's not in the same area as andermatt. bivio is located between tiefencastel and st. moritz. near the julier pass. http://www.bivio.ch

    Wondering if any of you Euro residents have the 411 on the snow outlook for this season. Mrs Powstash and I are set on heading to Cham this winter, given that there is ample snow. What's the word?
