Prepare to stand corrected again. These guys are from the family Platanistidae, which includes all river dolphins. True to form, all Platanistidae are in the order Cetacea, which includes all whales, dolphins, and porpoises.
So just like every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square, every dolphin is a whale, but every whale isn't a dolphin.
