I really don't think that "avalanche size" matters. You can be killed as easy in a small avalanche (Snow Torents has lots of examples of this) as in a "big avalanche." Consequences, is more a matter...

Well, I'd rather see a four scale danger scale (Low, Moderate, High and Extreme) instead of the five scale that has Consideable in between Moderate and High.

If you think there is enough snow to ski/ride/sled you should also be thinking avalanche...

I do not recommend buying "used" transceivers. If you do buy one, I'd use it only as a training transceiver (i.e., in a Nerfball).

GB, why don't you tell folks (since you're on the Friends Of CAIC board) what the money from this bash goes to support at the CAIC. I think that would give them a better idea what this is all about....
