So VT is still alive.

Spring skiing with the PSIA-E tele crew was a blast this weekend. As long as they didn't talk about technique too much!
The coverage in the trees was terrific on Saturday, but thinning on...

FS: Size 30 Garmont Syner-G. These are my neighbors and have about a dozen days on them. I don't even think they have been molded. They still have the packing dust on them. $200 plus shipping.

Charging for an uphill season pass? I thought Mt Snow sucked when it bullied it's employees by not letting them work down the street. Now I'm totally convinced the management there can felch my...

Great shot, vt ski. It could use a little cropping, but otherwise, $$$.

The northern Taconics skied quite nicely today. We climbed from 1400' to 3400' and lapped the middle 500' vert just because it was so much fun. 8" consolidated over a 3' base.

Pics of my trip to a local NELSAP were less than impressive, but it skied quite nicely for a few runs. That is, until the owners started grooming! I guess they are preparing for a sled assisted...

Anyone interested in doing a slack country tour at Stratton tomorrow (skins helpful but not necessary/taking lift to top), shoot me a PM.
03-19-2013, 07:43 PM
philth - we were at Stratton
powbmps - not my kids, but I did teach them both to tele.
Fresh tracks almost all day.

Look for me in the trees at Stratton tomorrow tele'ing on my Voile Chargers.

First tracks at Viking today were very nice.
If you guys don't know what I'm talking about, I'd suggest coming up from the basement and asking your mom and dad about the facts of life. :tdo13:
I like you use my other appendage for services more important than simply counting. :fmicon:
I count until I run out of fingers and toes. This year that was before New Year's Eve.

Similar 'compaction' of the falling snow here in So. VT. Bromley skied rather firm this afternoon given how it's snowed for 2 days straight. I guess we are still getting over the r@!n.
03-15-2013, 08:49 AM
Hey look, it's me on the Bromley FB page.

I had to settle for sloppy seconds on this run at 4pm on a Sunday. No surprise.

We got into the predicted 2-4" range near 1600' at BOB south, but just barely. It is still snowing, so we could hit that upper end by lunch.

Looks like someone is training for Alaska. :fm:

Still a very noticeable crust between 1800-2300' here in town. Not too bad for BC XCD trail breaking, but it made turning rather challenging.
03-01-2013, 05:28 AM
Great edit, otnavuskire!
02-28-2013, 12:47 PM
Getting up towards 40 deg here at 1600'. At least the tree branches are shedding the snow and springing back upright.

My friends found a natural 5-6' across avy under the Red Chair at Magic this morning.
Kicking man-made sluffs as well.
02-28-2013, 05:49 AM
I'd say 6" at base, 10-12" at top. It was very elevation dependant. Above 2200-2500' it was much fluffier. It should cover a lot of nasties.

Stratton woods were off the hook today. Trees that haven't been open in years were slayed.

Absolutely bombing at Stratton. 5 runs of freshies in the same glade.
It's all about the socks!!

At 6'1", 180lbs, the large Higgins was a tent. The medium fits okay but the shoulders and pits are tight. I love my medium FL puffy, though.

NJFree - I just went back and watched your viddy. You had me clinched in a few spots. Nicely done.

Kid stoke and powder stoke on the same page. Right on!
Yesterday was the tele race at Bromley.
My 13 year old daughter on her way to a silver medal.

I know you guys up north are enjoying 20"+ right now but here in So VT the skinny skiing is just fantastic. Some more BC skating this morning for about 10k and then 6k of classic at the touring...

VT is all ice. Everyone west of Denver knows that.

Cold and windy DP lead to only a few laps in the freshness. Hopefully the southern Greens will catch up over the weekend.

Only if you're wearing snow shoes. :the_finge

6" of unpredicted snow had me out at a local NELSAP for a few lunch laps today. I was solo and only had my iPhone so pics kinda suck.
Remember kids, skin tracks to the side give extra freshies!
02-20-2013, 06:15 AM
Solid 4" at bob south. I have to imagine that Magic picked up something, even after the crest sucked most of the moisture out.
edit: the wind is starting pick up something serious, though.
02-19-2013, 07:27 PM
3" new since I came home from my ski and it's still falling.
02-19-2013, 02:36 PM
For those of you discovering some of the So VT NELSAPs, please feel free to come out next fall to help do some maintenance. There are other lines all through there that need annual work. If you...

Gen Stark - I didn't even know they had a paid subscription service. Maybe their FB page should have a link and description regarding that service.

Does anyone know what happened to NE Weather Works? I'm a total FB idiot (I actually use my wife's acct) but the link I had set up no longer brings me to their FB.

Dust on 1/2" breakable crust here in the southern counties. Skinny sticks with leathers seemed to have a mind of their own n the downs. Some fat, rockered skis might have destroyed it.
