The northern Taconics skied quite nicely today. We climbed from 1400' to 3400' and lapped the middle 500' vert just because it was so much fun. 8" consolidated over a 3' base.

Pics of my trip to a local NELSAP were less than impressive, but it skied quite nicely for a few runs. That is, until the owners started grooming! I guess they are preparing for a sled assisted...

Similar 'compaction' of the falling snow here in So. VT. Bromley skied rather firm this afternoon given how it's snowed for 2 days straight. I guess we are still getting over the r@!n.

We got into the predicted 2-4" range near 1600' at BOB south, but just barely. It is still snowing, so we could hit that upper end by lunch.

Still a very noticeable crust between 1800-2300' here in town. Not too bad for BC XCD trail breaking, but it made turning rather challenging. :eek:

Getting up towards 40 deg here at 1600'. At least the tree branches are shedding the snow and springing back upright.

My friends found a natural 5-6' across avy under the Red Chair at Magic this morning.

I'd say 6" at base, 10-12" at top. It was very elevation dependant. Above 2200-2500' it was much fluffier. It should cover a lot of nasties.

Stratton woods were off the hook today. Trees that haven't been open in years were slayed.

At 6'1", 180lbs, the large Higgins was a tent. The medium fits okay but the shoulders and pits are tight. I love my medium FL puffy, though.

Dust on 1/2" breakable crust here in the southern counties. Skinny sticks with leathers seemed to have a mind of their own n the downs. Some fat, rockered skis might have destroyed it.
