no advantage except as it correlates to lower weight. obviously really stiff can be a handful. IME soft skis are also torsionally soft and ski like shit on hard snow

+1 mountains don't lend themselves well to "if-then" statements, climbing what you ski can be nice, but sometimes it's a terrible idea and much less safe than ascending a more protected route

Your top comment was spot on, you'll never like the bag if the torso length is off. Gregory makes the alpinisto in an XS and cilo makes the 30 small enough to fit some very short people.
