If the skins are useless to you your best bet would be to put a slice in the skins length ways just after the tip through to the tail. When applying the skins set them just back from edge to edge....

If you can't afford boots with tech inserts then F12s are the way to go. If you can afford new boots then low tech bindings are the answer.
