Hey Atrain, check out Popoyo if you're in the area. I've had great surf there

x3 on alternating. that would be great
Ya, that's why this worked so well for us. The wife wanted the clear calm water for swimming and snorkelling, and I wanted the surf, so this was perfect.
I don't know about the rest of the...
A few final shots from Eleuthera.
Overall, a great surf and beach vacation spot.
I was surprised at how easy it was to get here. Easy cheap flights from Fort Lauderdale. We flew to Nassau...

I think the terrain park is part of it. I'm not a park guy, but it is super popular, especially in the spring. The big park is on B-comb, and its really expensive to build the big spring park on...
Definitely the stuff dreams are made of. After 3 years off the board, this was pretty sweet.
I'll get one sunrise session tomorrow before I head back to reality. Serious surfers might call this...
scored again today on Eleuthera.
Caught the two best waves of my life, back to back. Head high beauties that popped up in front of me and picked me up with barely a stroke! Rode em switch all...
I could never make the app work on my Iphone. I gave up and just have a link to the site on my phone.
Caught a couple great waves, and took a couple beatings yesterday.
Sipping coffee and getting ready for a sun up session. I always forget how tired my arms are after the first couple days...
Gaper Day is quality entertainment.
Even if you don't get up the mountain that day for skiing, the party afterwards (and by afterwards I mean from about 10:00 AM onwards) is well worth it!
You're right. I was being a bit morbid. In a lucky circumstance, such as a witnessed burial inbounds or near backcountry, it certainly is possible that you could be saved by a RECCO or an avalanche...
Lower elevations XC trails in Whistler are good to go.
Squamish and Pemberton XC are perfect right now. Acutally trending towards dusty already in Pemby.
Certainly way more great XC riding...
I went to university in Thunder Bay and we used to go around to the south side of the lake once a year if the surf was good.
Never got it near as good as that though!
Keep fighting the good...
Ott, Ya Whistler is closed. Taking some long awaited tropical beach time before the bike park opens.
I wasn't expecting surf in the Bahamas, but there it was!
Also randomly happened...
True. I've worked with the Recco and it picks up everything.
Obviously, you're almost certainly dead as fuck if it comes to the patrol coming with the Recco to look for you. But cool...
Scored some clean shoulder high waves on Eleuthera this week.
First waves I've caught in 3 years!

Lee getting after it as always!

Never caught while in the backcountry, but ski cut a big one (2+) on the Duffey a couple years ago that went way bigger than anticipated.
Doing avalanche control for over 10 years I've ski cut...

They will finish their cigs and wine before they go rescue him from whatever shitshow he gets into

Somewhere out there, the OP is shocked this thread isn't full of support for him

I'm with P11 on this one. It's a wolverine, not a fuckin unicorn. If he had run it over or killed it I would feel differently. Plus he got himself fucked up for his troubles.
Let it go boys. No...

If you're going to call a guy out by name on the net, at least have the balls to ditch the alias.

That is all.
Gold Jerry. Gold.
PS, that's a movie reference.
And a good ski company name.
Your welcome fuckstick
How tall are you Chrispwp?
I didn't know they stacked shit that high.
Clearly, Big Air Dave is their first sponsored athlete (well maybe second; after me of course)

Should Have Thought A Little Harder Before Posting
My wife's from Bariloche. Great ski town, but as others have mentioned, there is NO money to be made being a ski bum in South America. Wages there are shockingly low. The economy is in the shitter...

King of the Hill is awesome.
But it does not exist...
Ya. I thought that was pretty weird as well.
I feel like there's probably more to this story than was reported in this little article.
A 30-year-old ski instructor survived after being ripped away and buried for...

Ya. I mean those plans.
These flagging have nothing to do with that expansion.
But I know it looks like it is.
But it isn't....

Thanks, that would be cool. Last time I skied Fitz I remember looking over there and just seeing gaping crevasses everywhere! Looks like a sick run though...

Anybody skied or had a close look at the Curtain Glacier recently?
Planning a tour for tomorrow...

If this video is TGR, then who are the two skiers?

PS to add: sorry to post in the middle of the Hourglass discussion. That shit is BAD ASS
PPS to add: P11 for the new Whis photo slayer
Anybody else here have experience with whippets?
I never really thought they'd be any good for self arresting like this in an avalanche. Guess I'm wrong.
Just watched it again
WTF. Cool head
Sweet self arrest with the whippets. Pretty calm to. Knowing what was below, buddy held it together pretty well.
I would have been shitting myself.
I needed to smoke a...
I clicked o this with high expectations. They were met. Could have used more real fighting, but still Full of win

Some of you who frequent the Million Dollar Ridge or Khyber Pass probably have noticed orange and pink flagging tape out there in the woods.
These are rescue lines put in by the...
Scary stuff. I hate hard slab. When I run into hard slab on avalanche control, I always re assess and expect it to break very high. Hard slab can even pull back into completely flat terrain, and...
