i never had problems with maestrale leakage. i have more than 200 days on orange and RS combined now, and though they are very warm (nice in winter, sweaty in spring) they havent leaked a bit yet......

so when will we get some nice weather with clear nights? probably the shittiest part of the winter during the last couple of days. if it has to be so warm, can we see the sun please?

i just remembered that some of the nikon 1s are supposed to be able to shoot 10fps at full resolution for ~3 seconds and 5fps at full resolution for ~10 seconds. the smallest ones arent much...

i am no expert, but i think you would need a professional camera for that. my sony slt can shoot 7fps for about 2 seconds, thats why i always shoot it at 5fps (which is easily enough for skiing...

over here, even though this season has been (and still is) great, at least 08/09 and 11/12 have been better.

mainly maintaining automatic weather stations around some glaciers (artesonraju, caraz & shallap), maybe some glacier mass balance measurements as well. i will leave huaraz for lima on may 22nd...

in my experience, bd ascension are the most reliable skins by far. glue is good for 150-200 days, and the skins are good for many seasons. they do not glide well, but have the most grip of all skins...

in my opinion the scarpa maestrale is definitely stiffer than the dynafit tlt 5 mountain. not much stiffer in the first few mm of forward flex, but if it is buckled kinda tightly, it keeps at least...

yeah, right downtown, nordkette seen from the market place. please also note how clouds hide the interesting terrain up there as well as the lifts, making the picture way mysterious.
