They are soft compared to other big-mountain guns like the XXL or DP Pro+, but with enough flex to get excellent edge grip. The relatively straight sidecut (R=40 in 195) also makes them pretty stable...

Depends if you want to stop with your nose pointing forwards or not. 'Pumping' will increase your stopping distance. Locking up has a good chance of making you spin (but you will still stop sooner).
