So I'm wondering what way/shape to cut the skin at the tip that would be best for not getting any snow under the skin? I've tried different ones but haven't come to a conclusion myself.
Looking at the 172 as well. I will only ski them with a Alien RS and my 177 Mtn Explore 95 is both unnecessaryly stiff and i find the tip hooky so looking for a change.
I tried the 189 Backland 107 in a very bad groomer and it's very damped for being a light ski, a ton mor than my Down 104L. I do love my 104L in all kinds of soft snow. But I would think the Backland...
Anyone tried the tour wrap style liner from the green Lupo TI?
Because it isn't good enough for a boot as stiff as the MTN Lab, probably! My shins couldn't ski the MTN Lab with the original liner at all. I've probably tried every mod possible to make it work but...
Interesting that a lot of you have so much to say without having a clue!
If you obviously don't know, why answer?
I molded mine to a Procline carbon and wow did that liner get a different volume...
What tongue liners with walk mode have you guys tried and if it's intuition, what thickness? Anyone tried the Maestrale RS liner?
Last year I had:
BG with beast 16
Black Damond carbon convert with Raider 14 (120mm, 1600g ski, 400g binding)
If I go to hakuba for a longer time I would have added my QST 106 with shifts, but...
For me it's been a big problem and I'm haven't managed to get it fixed completly. We've cut away the elastic and tried to heat up the tongue only with a heat gun and buckled the boots hard...
LOL, can't stop laughing :D
All I can say that it works and that spoiler that comes with the boots is kind of thin anyways ;)
I use the spoiler on my shins to relieve pressure which I think it's made for since it's so thin and sticks on the tongue and doesn't in the rear. I do have a bigger spoiler in the rear though.
I have pair of Arc’teryx Procline FL pants but I don't think they vent good enough and without a waterproof ass I won't use them in inbound in say japan.
I'm probably getting the this years Norröna...
I got a Dalbello I.D. Pro cheap and have now used it without molding for two days. It looks like a Plug wrap liner but I guess medium in thickness so like a powerwrapish :D
Anyways, it fits but is...
In Sweden it's quite common and it's what I do between biking and ski season in Sweden. I got maybe 30 days this season :)
Awesome feeling on new ice. Longest day was about 55km of skating.
Got...
I've only tried the one in the green lupo ti and it toured ok but rearward ROM isn't super in that or any other wrap liner but it's way better than in a pro wrap. It kinda defeats the purpose of...
I use the spoilers in the tongue to make the pressure more even on my pointy shins. I think that's what they're fore :D I do use a spoiler in the back as well ;)
They tour great so you will be happy...
I use those small spoilers for shin relief, intended purpose in my book since they are to small, and I love it but adjusted the forward lean I put a bigger spoiler in the back as well.
+1 for Julbo Shield with Cameleon photocromatic and polarized lenses =)
Anything new in the last month?
Tnx for all the info btw! I'll hopefully tour in these insted of Procline and Mtn Lab
I've had previous versions of the 114 and I think that it skis long rather than short. I had the 189/190.
I liked the YW8 102 in 179 and now my 104L in 181.
Other skis I own and like 186 BG, 188...
Which volume of the pro tour did you get? high?
Anyone used the SLR Release on snow? it's itching in my buy button =)
and a picture?
Exactly! Shit happens. I've seen plenty of falls that way.
Why look at the shift binding now when it releases a year from now?
Announced isn't the same as a whole lot of them being for sale ;)
I got the new 104L because I like the YW8 102 a lot in soft snow but with a 25m sidecut and a little bit more taper I think they might be perfected ;) and a lot better on hard snow and windpack =)

I'm 178 and 73kg. I have a Large Lofotoen active jackaet and a Medium Bitihorn dri3 jacket. The large is big and the Medium would be wight with a back protector and a puffy under. Medium is a perfect...
What liners do you have in the Mtn Lab? I can't use the original ones and need new ones =(
With the amount of snow japan gets, the amount of creeks in some places and how steep it is close to the creeks, I highly recommend touring binders on all skis.
I've been in a few situations in...
The alpine sole or WTR sole works fine and most people I know use the gripwalk like an alpine boot. Might be based on the fact that my skis never release in the front with alpine boots either. 19/20...
Any advice for similar issue with aluminum crampons?
LOL
Very true! It's more the quick use of it when you don't rotate the heel that had me interested but I think you might have me convinced now =)
Video of the AL04 riser flap.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVMLW-CufzQ
So I just bought the ATK RT Race Tour and I want a high riser. I can't decide if I want the highest one so I have to turn the binding every time or if I want the high flip raiser.
Any advice?
The...
I'm thinking of the Superlite 2.0 or the ATK Haute Route/Race Tour. Any thoughts?
Thiking of modding the lifter on Superlite if I get it so I guess something for the ATK as well if I get it. Can't...
The only things I miss is a balloon and a little sleeve for my shovel blade
Probably true but have a look at where the edges will contact the bag and maybe put some duct tape there =)
I'm also thinking of what to do or how to place the shovel blade but haven't figured it out yet. Now it's just loose in the pack.
I do like the pack a lot though. I have a Haglöfs 20L comp bag which...
I was supposed to take part in the trying boots thingy but the forgot a layer in the liner (the ultralon) so I backed out =(
To use Kingpins with Backland Carbon is a total waste and kinda stupid. A boot like that isn't made for driving wide skis and especially not in a way that Kingpin could do compared to a normal tech...
So I like the shape of the Findr but this doesn't sound so good. Right now I'm on QST 106 with Kingpin as my everyday ski (I have wider skis yes) and Down Skis YW8 102 179 with ATK Raider 14 as a...
Mine are 1900g in 26.5
Could be without liner since the Lupo Carbon 2017 which doesn't have a strap up top is 1900g in 26.5.
If they've shaved over 300g and has a boot that's works the same, props to Dalbello!
The only thing I can see from that is that it's a heel that doesn't rotate so as you where thinking it might not matter at all.
That's soooooooo insane! Except for the Bonafides and what are they, Vicik? they all go between what? 112-122?
