I'm solidly in the mtb-ing more than skiing camp these days. The drive to Kirkwood over the years has killed my enthusiasm and there isn't that much I want to strive...

I usually don't bring any spare parts aside from the standard tubes in case I get a flat. I have had a buddy have to drop out of a race once though because he blew up a wheel though.....so shit can...

Just have all your nutrition/calories prepped before hand and have it all spread out in your pit area and ready to go so when you roll in, you can just quickly grab what you need and get out of there...

just think of it as a race. I mean, you can't stop in the middle of a race, take a breather...and expect everyone else to wait for you while you 'pause' and rest up :D

That's how it should work. This way it keeps people from 'cheating' the system and taking breaks in the middle of a segment when they get tired.

For example, take a short 3 minute uphill climb....
