I can vouch for Black Ops (located between Valdez and Thompson Pass), specifically the man, the myth, the Valdez/Bozeman legend, Jerry Hance as a guide. The entire BlackOps experience was epic, great...
I've been keeping solid track the past few years. Here are my stats:

Sticko! jetlag says hi... he's in the other room.
Of course the Wasatch splitfest is happening the days I'm out of town, spending it in one of the flattest lowest cities in the country. Have fun everyone, and be safe out there!
It was me. I brought it with me to the Wasatch when I moved in the fall.
My bad. It's been good here!
This thread is really depressing this season.
One of the guide's wife manages the Triangle (or at least used to).
In the time it takes to slog all the way up south fork, you could drive to UT. Just sayin...
Holidays are comin up... it was time to brew an xmas favorite. Made 15 gallons of Gingerbread Ale this weekend. This one smells amazing during the boil.

Went back up this morning with a co-worker and noticed a big fat slab ripped on Patsy, skier's left of my tracks from yesterday... That crown was a good 5-6'.
...
Was up on Patsy's this morning via grizzly, definitely deep up there. Still some shallow, sharky spots though, so watch out if you're heading out tomorrow.
...
Alta was ridiculous this morning. Waist deep blower up high, at least boot deep to the lot. Thank you, lake effect.
...
Also got some nice turns in yesterday. Happy powderween! (Sorry, only took photos heading up.)

I did you guys a favor and moved to SLC. You're welcome for the bomber snow this year.
Apparently while Vets and BigTim were slaying their lines, cbalke and I were attacking the Y on Conness

So those were YOUR tracks! I can see my tent from there
Wow, the Snowbird hut looks amazing. I'm completely re-thinking my general plan now. Thanks for the input!
Thanks for the info chugachjed! If I'm more interested in getting turns than fishing, do you have any particular spots around the area that might be decent the beginning of Aug? I'm more than likely...
Hah! I just logged in to start the same damn thread! I don't mean to hijack it at all, but thinking of heading up to Girdwood, Seward, and the Kenai Fjords in August, so any info would be rad.

I can see my tent from there! Nice photos!
Thrashed some fun chutes above Greenstone lake this weekend. Plenty of coverage back there still, and the corn was great!

awesome jimw! thanks for the photos... looks like saddlebag might be a good bet for the long weekend!
Also bump, looking for some Tioga conditions beta. I know it doesn't look like those photos above anymore, so what's still holding snow around there? Any word on Saddlebag road?

Mammoth Crest wasn't too bad this weekend.

It was delicious creamed corn almost the whole way, the thick stuff you can really lean into. The choke was just barely filled in enough to get through, but we got down to about 6800 without having...
Hot damn! Nice work guys!
C'mon... mostly? No. Follow the leader, yes. Terrain was super mellow, so it's nice having a track to maintain speed sometimes.
I think it was around 3-4 hours. It's always nice when you can skin right from the car too.
You blew it! The trees around Charlton were Tits McGee. Snow quality was about as good as it gets, easily 2' of fresh up there.

oh definitely. once we realized it was just old crusty stuff underneath and not rocks we let it rip. first few chairs up 3 tomorrow will have fun; we left some for ya.
I'll chime in with a few (shitty cellphone) photos from this morning...

After 18" reported around big bear, I couldn't help but think the same lines we schralped on Gorgonio/Jepson last week would be epic. Let's just say getting there was one of, if not THE, worst slog...
I went. I skinned up the fire road at 7:20, continued on up roller coaster. Got some nice turns in the drifty spots and my first coreshot on the split while plowing through a really shallow patch....
sticksplitman and I will be at baldy tomorrow, with our rock boards of course. Thinking of hitting Baden on thursday and spending the weekend on Jacinto.

I biffed the settings with my glove and started recording b&w... such a nice line regardless.

This thread is about to get radical.... wait for it.
Upper elevations on San G might have picked up a decent amount yesterday. Hard to know for sure
Red Cone was a pretty satisfying solo mission yesterday. A bit chalky up top, in a good way, then it got softer and deeper in the trees down to horseshoe lake. Mucha diversión. Plenty of fresh in any...
Haha nice try buddy!
Anyone down for a day trip / tour this weekend? I'm driving a couple buddies up to Mammoth, and have a free lift ticket to ride with them in-bounds for one of the days, but for the other day while my...
What can I say, those shots of Baden got me drooling; I love that gulch run. Figured that little refresh a couple days ago filled in the tracks and the cold temps helped keep things fluffy. It was...
Damn that sounds epic. Way to get it!

Nice! Been talking about Baden the past week wondering how the snow was up there. Might head that way tomorrow or continue on to waterman and play around for the day.
