For Cham/Courmayer the Piola topos are about the best for pure rock climbing (glacier crossings/approach might be needed). Available in both english and french.

I looked into it a few years ago.

You can use studs in southern DE, IT, FR and AT. But often you're not allowed to take them to the motorways...

Pretty sure that was the case with CH as well....

I actually prefer uphill to the downhill... and skinny skis is where it is at... say around 46mm @ the waist.

I'm a meadow skipper... so open low angle (read about 5 deg or so) alpine pastures is where I ski...

I sacrificed my knee to Ullr, so this spring is going to be off the chart. Be prepared to ski well into June.
