I just retired my 186 3s after a season and a half of patrolling with them full time. I'll miss them, but after 200+ days on rocks it was time.
Loved those skis. Now they will be a part of a...
I have had some in my Atomic Hawx 130s for probably 100 days in the resort this season. (full time patrolling) At this rate, they are absolutely going to outlast the shells, and I am very happy with...
I have fond memories of my dad tomahawking down that run past my brother and I when I was a kid.
It's a bit of a late answer, but at Sunshine if you're stuck at the bottom due to avalanche control chances are most of the staff are too, so you're not missing much of anything.
The snow got a lot heavier and more slabby at sunshine today, in the morning it was a "straightline bye bye to get enough speed to put in a ski cut" snowpack.
Strawberry, Jack and hopefully Wolf, maybe Wawa. Standish has a way to go.
March is usually a good time to come. I'm sure you'll find plenty of info as we get closer.
I had an Extang SolidFold before I got my canopy. It was solid enough to stand on, easy to put on and take off and waterproof. Not as pretty as some, but functional as fuck.
It's mostly gone now.

This. Revelstoke is fun too.

I think I may have broke 100 this week.
Great news! The wall of ice in front of my driveway is starting to fuck off, so I'll be out on my V Strom soon-ish!
I'll share a bit of my week.
Day 1, it's pretty cool here.

We went for a walk out at June and looked at some stuff.

I'm coming to the end of my week here, I love your mountain. We are attempting to fly out tomorrow, so we might stay longer.
I seriously doubt they order an entire season's worth of explosives at once...
Well that's exciting. I'm flying down tomorrow, see you guys soon!
I'll be skiing in patrol uniform (It's an exchange, they are sending a couple guys north), I would love to run into you at some point.
If you park in the back lot at Sunshine (Staff/overflow) you likely won't get hassled when van dwelling. There are plenty of cars that live there full time. Just be respectful of the area, and a...
I'll be flying down on the 4th of March, I'm getting more and more stoked about this trip by the day!
I'll have a look, thanks for the heads up.

It looks like I'll be coming to visit you guys in early March. I'm just finalizing dates.
Akias are fun
Running a toboggan is a good time. Getting to people can be real fun, airing bumps with an empty 17 behind you is a whole new experience.
There is so much angst in this thread it's amusing in a sick way.
In my mind, if you look like you're in control and you're not generally being an idiot I have better things to do than hassle you...
The rain to mountain top made it a damp day, but it did start snowing mid day at goat's eye.
Looks like you're having fun. Here is my DL650.

Yes. That is correct.
There are plenty of rocks to hit on Standish still, but there is also quite a lot of snow. Should be a fun day up there.
Go to your favorite local shop and ask really nicely. Honestly though, you don't really need the legit gear to get it done. I did my first few mounts with a regular drill bit using a golf ball I...
130 or so last year. I'm on 8 so far this year. (since patrol days count now, otherwise it's a pretty damn small number)
I have a Patrol 35 on it's way to me, it looked good enough to order.
The best part of that line was when it came over the radio that there was a "gnarly looking sidestep" up there.
The dive opened today for a few hours, and was pretty good at that. I'm not really...
It was good.

Patrol was pretty short staffed and busy Thursday. I didn't hear much about the dive, but the west will be worth the wait for the people who get through first when it open back up.
The dive was as good as I have seen it in a while today. I did blow an edge out looking for a guy's ski below the shoulder traverse though. Yin and yang.
We are working on a card for the guys at Squaw, two of our patrollers are going down there for an exchange soon so our vibes will be sent in person.
Nobody has hugged me yet. But kind words do...
I have just been rocking the buff on the face and minimizing time outside when possible.
Not so much at SSV today. I did get a good run through the dive late in the day, so that was fun.
I have a baofeng programming cable and no baofeng if anyone wants it, then you can program the thing with Chirp instead of using the wacky in-radio programming. I might have a decent antenna lying...
If you want to ski goat's eye you should think about heading out this weekend. Or so I heard.
No idea what will be open, but most of the skiing I have done up there recently has been pretty...
And it's in better shape than the ski out. Apparently Galaxy Ridge is even skiing well.
It rained in the village at SSV today. I didn't go any higher, so I can't say what happened up top.
I love my element. Good buy.
Angel opened today, I didn't get up there but people seemed to be having fun.
What are you guys talking about, those racers are always in control!

Fluid Film works for that.
It's more for an object that has come and gone, your training is still right. Keep in place unless that otherwise jeopardizes the safety of you or the patient.
There are far more useful things to...
