Can only swing Sunday, but planning to be there as well, provided I wake up to catch my ride Sunday morning. :P

The Chutes were money today.
Good to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones (nice to meet you thudder). Spats, we were looking out for the pixelated onesie and horns but we never saw...

Tahnks truckee_splitter and Corky for the beta. Rose on Sunday it is.
Corky, they have $29 tickets for those with season passes from other resorts, which I think is the same as the friend deal,...

Per Squaw's website:
Are the Chutes still open at Rose? Any idea if they will be this weekend? Thinking of hitting Rose for closing on Sunday (possibly Saturday).

^^^ Solid work Danny!

Based on the NOAA remote data numbers, it looks like the snow level is around 8700 feet at the moment. Its raining on the Kirkwood cam.

Thanks for the beta T-Boz! I have decided to channel my inner jahroy and hit Squaw on a Saturday, and while I really don't want to be skiing corn in the middle of March, it beats sitting on my ass...

Thanks for the link PA!

Here is my feeble attempt at a mini review for this years J-mo and Wrenegade:
Ski's I own: 09/10 186 Volkl Gotama, 09/10 191 Wren (mounted -0.5cm from line), 11/12 191 Caylor (mounted -2cm from...

Forgive my ignorance, but where is that? I guess I need to start leaving the climbing harness and shoes in the car.
Took the weekend off, and was regretting it by 11am.
Edit: Nevermind, looks...

^^^ Agreed. Lots of fun turns off of Scott, if you knew where to look. ;)
Whoever set the High Traverse around the back, set it way too low, made for an interesting hike back onto the right side...

Hitting up Kirkwood on Friday, en route to Mammoth. Anyone gonna be around?
02-05-2013, 05:34 PM
PowTron, where is your detailed write-up on the ON3P booth, like last year!? ;)
02-03-2013, 02:49 PM
Call the ON3P shop and talk to Rowen or Scott about it. They can run the numbers and see how things end up.
The ratio on this years Jeffery's is the same as the Caylor. I went -2cm back on last...
While I enjoyed the long-winded megaposts of the past, the 5 minute video will do. Looking forward to 2014's stoke. Fuck, I need to go to Japan.
I dig the orange/purple combo. No homo.

^^^ Hah, thanks! Never realized the Sierra Crest sensor was Squaw Valley summit, always used to click on the High Camp link.
01-18-2013, 09:21 AM
^^^ How can you tell? The remote sensor for High Camp has been down all year.
01-15-2013, 10:11 PM
That would be Josh A.:

Was just about to post I didn't see any tracks in White Wolf. Didn't look that way.
Even the stuff that is tracked up is still skiing really well. Plus when I left, the winds were beginning...

Thanks for chiming in iggy!
I suppose this could go in the other ON3P tech talk thread, but... How does the wood veneers effect the ski, relative to the normal topsheet, in terms of...

Found a pic of some "wacky" ON3P BG's protos on the CAST Facebook page:
Not sure if they are...
Props to slobmonster. Jesters Pro's arrived fast and as described.
^^^ Are you kidding? The Renegades have a bigger turning radius than the Wren's. It is also not what I would consider a soft ski.

Looks like Andy from Unofficial Alpine, sampled the KT backcountry gate: http://unofficialalpine.com/?p=1036

^^^ Yes. Two resorts, one pass.
Solid work fellas.
01-02-2013, 09:09 AM
Still able to stand and walk for the time being. Ask me in a few days after everything tightens up.
01-01-2013, 11:41 PM
Rowen/Iggy, how does the turning radius of the 12/13 191 Wren compare to the 09/10 191 Wren? My 09/10's are mounted +5mm (boot size change), and the 12/13's are mounted on the line. I took both out...
+1 for 191 Caylor. I own 191 Wrens, 191 Caylors, I actively ski both and love them, I have also owned 186 BG's. I have not skied the 191 BG's, but I would say the 191 Caylor is better at crud...

The High T boundary has essentially been moved out to Grouse rock (TheDad can confirm the exact location; unless there is another Grouse that I am not aware of), which could explain any...
12-31-2012, 12:44 PM
UCL, we just hit High T out to the boundary. Snow is still fresh over there. Some spots are wind effected and scoured but it all skied really well. The cold weather, winds, and brief...

I think I can speak for everyone at Alpine Meadows today (all 300 of them) when I say... Best. Day. Ever.
12-24-2012, 05:56 PM
The pow at AM was pretty wind effected but still fast and fun. Opted for the Roundhouse line in the morning and got 3 laps by the time Summit even started loaded.
We got one fun lap in Gentians...

Puking here in Tahoe Donner. ;P
12-21-2012, 06:33 PM
KT Storm Day fun! KT spun the whole day, aside from a brief closure due to an evac. Flat light in the morning, but it started snowing around noon and it got more fun... Was a total white-out...

How is the coverage over on Red Dog Ridge and East Face? Contemplating my storm day game plan for tomorrow. ;)
Edit: Make that just Red Dog Ridge, saw that East Face was not so good.
12-18-2012, 07:25 PM
Village Ski Loft in Incline installed some on a pair for me last year. Ask for Elko.
12-11-2012, 10:03 AM
The magnets were taken off last year, seems they were problematic.
12-09-2012, 10:45 PM
Got to take my 12/13 186 J-mo's for a spin today, at Alpine Meadows, in exactly the types of conditions I bought them in the first place for, groomers, firm snow, little bit of corn, chalk, bumps,...
12-07-2012, 03:44 PM
How were the crowds? Has everything been slayed or should the fun snow continue tomorrow?
12-06-2012, 09:27 PM
Which I thought is a narrow boot? ;)
Curious what the base of AM looks like. Saw some pics of Gunners and it looked un-skiable. Hoping the upper mountain is a bit more spackled for the weekend.
I own the 09/10 191 Wren's. They are my go to Powday +1 skis (which in Tahoe is sometimes +2 hours). I recently nabbed a pair of the 11/12 191's from the theclymb, which I am looking...
Only ones I recognized from last year were the Rens. Obviously there is nothing wrong with it, its just interesting to see how often some people make significant changes to the quiver. ;)
^^^ You're quiver undergoes the most drastic changes each year. :P
12-02-2012, 10:21 AM
^^^ Now that actually looks like a fire hose.
Absolutely pouring in the South Bay right now.
Picked up the Wrens on a impulse. I am definitely curious as to wether I will be able to notice any difference. They definitely feel lighter. I have enjoyed my time on the 09/10's so far.
This years quiver, though a few still have to be mounted:
'09-'10 186 Volkl Gotamas
'12-'13 186 ON3P Jeronimos
'11-'12 191 ON3P Wrenegades
'09-'10 191 ON3P Wrenegades
Were they bought new from the shop? If so, how many days do you have on them? Also, what size are the brakes?
