Inspiring.
Maybe the little lot at the 395/203 junction.
For anyone wondering if the marketing numbers are accurate (not really) here's a link to the snow study site at 9,000.
(Of course it snows more at higher elevations [up to a point], but wind...
Preaching to the choir, but for all that is Holy, buy your groceries somewhere else. The Vonn's lot is buried and only has room for a few cars. If you do have to go, leave your 8 kids at home ;)
Nice work. Snow in emerson looked great.
Pretty sure I took that picture of Hurd :)
Red slate will be blower. Ritter will be perfect corn. I saw pictures on FB of people straight-lining 3rd Pillar.
Just do mt mendel. 20 people have done it already this year.
Indeed.
TGR, in this day and age, is stupid. Feel free to pm me for beta, stoke, internet bromance, recipe exchange, etc.
It's shitty.
Looks interesting, I'd much rather watch a decent ski flick with an 'opinion' like All.I.Can than peruse some dbags instagram feed about how #inspired their life is.

Weird thread. Weird year. My hat is off to all of those who've kept their motivation up and are making it happen on their own terms.
The little storm back in early March actually fell straight...
Great job w/ the photography!
lake effect
lol. truth.
come on dude. A 10 day wilderness traverse is of course better on skis. Only a masochist would do that on a snowboard. If that's the type of thing that interests you, then skiing is what you...
If you're more interested in the tour and transitions then you should post your question on "TetonGravityisNotInvolved.com".
Skiing means you'll get back to your nagging wife 15 minutes sooner, and maybe, just maybe, you'll make it to Bed Bath & Beyond before they close. Sweet.
Some places in the US are like Europe with lots of people out and about, lots of available info, a good, accurate, comprehensive bulletin/forecast, etc. (like the Wasatch). Other places in the US...
Pole drags. But yikes, that must have been scary just standing there with your thumb up your ass as the world comes crashing down upon you. For some reason I now have "For whom the bell tolls"...
Twin Peaks is streaming on Hulu Plus.

Serious answer: just get a bigger, powder specific snowboard for the deep days, something with a big rockered nose. Riding powder is tiring, especially if you're on a park pickle.
The author is no Jaded Local.
Video was hilarious. Good job.
Here's some non-Dana, non-Ellery Tioga-ish 'stoke' from a week or so ago.

Whatever gets you through the day ;)
Not as bad as the BCA video of the 'pro' snowboard girl from a few years back, but crap that was a huge slide.
I have to admit, I was really hoping the commercial was going to be for a Chevrolet...
^^^^ NSA already has all your infos anyway, might as well vote. you can vote and then remove the app.
Ya gotta go to Europe if you can swing the $. Who knows, in 10 years you mighr be broke and divorced with kids. BC isn't going anywhere. And if you're skiing full time you'll get all the good...
Man, that was awesome. Great write up and photos, too. Stoked!
Great thread, keep posting.
I rode up there last weekend. It was fun then. Coverage was OK.
Nice pics AKBruin (and Franz). I had been thinking about doing Emerson but couldn't muster the motivation. Looks like it was...
Watch out for rockfall driving down in the afternoon. Lots of crap still rolling down the scree slope, I got nailed but didnt die and no damage to my truck (drinking whiskey).
Random iPhone pics from last weekend in the wind. A few decent turns (and more than a few that were not so decent).

You should probably visit and make a decision on your own and not base your life choices on what dbags on the intrwebs say?????
Nah, apparently on the skin up: http://esavalanche.org/advisory/eastern-sierra-avalanche-forecast-tue-03122013-1039pm
The negs were still good yesterday. Manky down low on the moraines in the pm....
Nice, you're the master of north side of MRNP powder. Go ride those chutes on Goat Island next (in powder).
Still really fun out there (with the right attitude lol) exploring random little stuff. Would be nice to get some real storms though (knock on wood). In the meantime, gotta make the 'magic' happen...
What do you do to a girl from VT after you take off her skirt????
Nice work. Cool gun-sight rock formation on that ridge.
Ha ha. Sounds character building fer sure. We skinned from the bottom up and over to the road and snowboarded from their all the way back to the car, with a little poling, walking a few short bare...
Well all right, way to go for it despite the cold.
I'm having a hard time leaving the house ;)
A little over 9 hours car to car, probably 7ish to the top. Pre-dawn start fer sure.
Nice pics.

Well, there were some pretty strong North winds for a few days, and now they've switched before this next little storm, so most everything that's not sheltered is probably pretty scoured. ...
Prepare for incoming spray; just over-stoked as this was the biggest line I've ridden top to bottom without stopping :)
summit of bloody mountain...
Bump for Mount Andrea Lawrence, located east of Yosemite in The Eastern Sierra. The naming bill passed the house in December. Who's going to get the first descent?

^^^^^ trying to be funny, not snarky, shoulda added a smiley :)
Looks like an awesome trip.
