You sound like me exactly one year ago! (I've since moved a bit north.) Start thinking about that season pass.....
Seconded on both points. Karter's movie reminds me of how amazing this winter was. :)
Well I hope you do enjoy it :) Being off of many people's ski-radar must help a lot. Areas with good terrain under a 2 hour's drive from a major city don't stand much of a chance in that respect....
There will be no freshies. It did warm up a decent amount.
Does anyone really think that untracked snow in a ski resort can last a whole day unskied? Lift closures aside. This is 2011 in the land...
LBD 2011 was irrefutably awesome.

Baker was radonculously nice today. It was worth the haul.
Nice photo of a nice place :)
3pin: A few years ago Ms. Dromond tweaked her knee pretty good on a sunny day at Taos as I watched; so I know that sinking feeling. Hopefully it heals quickly and isn't too serious. My legs were...
It was another fun day at Alpental today. Foggy, PNW powder :)
I think that I left some gloves on the roof of my car or in the parking lot next to the bathrooms. Black and white Hestras, size 10...
Forecast looks decent, yet it's still 46 degrees at the base.
The schedule change at Alpy makes me sad. I miss Tuesdays and Wednesdays already. Pardon me while I let out a wistful sigh and start dreaming of next season long before this one is even over.
Yes, we did.
Here are some photos of the tour:

Crystal was fun if a bit crowded and rapidly skied down to ice in places. South back skied nicely.
Fun times in WA.

It was a good 6 inches, though!
Maybe we need to beg?
Despite the absence of mega dumpage, today rocked. (Mt Baker bc)

I'm not going to try and say that the skiing was great, because it was not.

That's not ours. Talk to Hawaii.
While I didn't find much waist deepness, I do agree that the upper mountain was great. It completely exceeded my expectations after skiing the glop on the lower mountain. The snow during the day...
I'm concerned that all that warm, heavy snow on top of fluffiness will leave Alpy a mostly closed shitshow. Considering Crystal. Decisions, decisions.
That is a good point! I never thought that there would be much of a plus side to rain on snow.
No kidding, they must have gotten more snow than I realize. It was super deep when they opened it Wednesday. I think they closed it again for Thursday.
Surprise backside opening at Stevens today. It was off the hook. I heard they they will have it closed again until Saturday.
Does anyone know if it's possible to call up a manufacturer and try to purchase single skis for this scenario? It sure would be useful. But then you need a single binding as well. What a pain! At...
My condolences. My ladyfriend has the same skis, and has tweaked her knee, and fell once at Crystal today. Luckily she was fine and the skis remain wedged tip-first in the snow.
Perhaps the upside...
I skied for a couple of hours at Snoqualmie Pass this morning. It was snowing most of the morning with no rain, sleet or sludge even at 3500'. I was surprised. The next couple of days should be great!
It was a chilly one this morning! That and really deep in spots.

At least we're not missing mega dumpage. I leave for the east on Tuesday.
I bet that setup rocked yesterday! Quite a quiver ski. Green Valley skied fantastic with zero rockage. The ski down the groomer at the end of the day was deemed the most dangerous moment of the day...
xtal summary: way up high there is good touring in spots, the lift serviced terrain is not worth it; terribly thin cover.

Indeed. Looks like it's time to consider other options.
Yeah winter!! Fuck pineapples.

I would have photos, some nice pretty mountainous ones from the sunrise but I come home to find that my newish memory card has just died. That, and I've practically lost my voice from not sleeping...
Decent coverage but with rain tomorrow it will ski not so great. Beautiful weather, today.

Done and done on a morning solo run. It was great!

I might go up to Muir on Thursday and check out what fell from the sky.
These icons make me happy: http://forecast.weather.gov/images/wtf/sn100.jpg
*gulp*
It looks like they might pick up some more significant snow this week. I am not knowledgeable enough to tell if that will actually improve the skiing given how high the freezing level...
