there was indeed a whole other, wintry world beyond superstar. rock skis not required (though that's what i brought for that long lap with goniff). skins were not needed either as the snow was grabby...

...as MINAW reported, the weather went crap on us but we had a good crew on-hand...and after sitting out during the drizzle, the snow got quite nice (as i had predicted:cool:)...the handful of us...

we had a good little crew: bern43, MNIAW, moguljunkie, scottski and goniff. we were parked and set up right below the lift.

the day started sunny but got ugly...

we all know weather does not equal climate?
the north pole ice still looks like superstar... we got a lucky roll of the dice this time;
last season's summer in march didn't repeat.

sun returned to kmart early today...then went away while the hill was socked in for a couple of hours...but i had predicted the sun would come back for the final 2 hours of the sesh.

yesterday turned out to be a sleeper day for sure.
better than forecast : no showers and plentiful periods of blue sky and strong sun.
snow was super soft by noon...got a couple of laps in with...

K skied great today.
no precip through last chair.
some nice stretches of blue sky throughout the day.
bumps were soft and harder surfaces were peel away.
hoping tonite/tomorrow not so cruel....

fwiw they didn't didn't groom ss before or after last last thursday...reporting they are leaving bumps tonite.
i saw possible snow monday - if it's cold enough that would be their time to groom /...

hard to imagine? really? the path we're on will of course mean the ruin of all of the last wild places on the planet.
