Hey at least I roped in some like minded idiots.
I have friends dammit!

nope.
Surprise, surprise.:fmicon::fmicon:
:wink::biggrin:
also back on topic....I often wished I had a little more tip float on my 195 pows, but I appreciate being able to dive my tips and ski it in light powder in a more traditional manner. I mounted them where keith recommended (102?) but moved them back on the remount and they are better.
How much farther back did you go?
Think I went 104
Sent from DBT's moms house using DroidX and tons of anal lube
/\/\ As Kidwoo has noted, Keith has since moved his standard suggested mount point back to be in line with what most of us preferred. I mounted my Pows at 104 also, much better than the original, more mid-ski mount suggestion.
You're in the range, the problem is more that you should just be on the longer ski IMO.
But I'd say head towards the 104 realm if it's really a problem.
Mine are mounted the same place yours are......I too feel like I could have gone further back. But you've also got 40lbs on me. And for jumping off shlt, I like where they're mounted. The only times I get drag is on really flat slow stuff with shit tons of deep snow. But the quick and nimble behavior everywhere else is worth it.
Just wanted to thank all you guys who agreed on this idea, thought it was something you wanted, and stepped up to make it happen.
Keith sounds pretty stoked and I'm pretty sure everyone who gets a pair will be too.
Couldn't have done it without the extra backing so seriously........thank you.
We's gonna get some real good skis I think! :D
Slid in under the wire and placed my order today, stoked!
The dimple on my 187 protests are at 102, which is where I have them mounted. Pretty happy with the mount, certainly would not go forward. I'm thinking I might go back a bit on the wootest to offset the girth reduction and help a bit with kick turns. Where are other folks thinking of mounting?
As close to center as possible.... Question how does a shorter tail help with jump turns?? never had a problem with that style of skiing if my tail was longer??
not 'Jump turns', 'Kick turns' for changing directions on the up

It's easier to step over the tails when there is less tail
Ahhh... Just got schooled on terminology but I know what you mean. In the 196 I might do it but I have the 187 on the way as an exclusive touring rig and I still plan on mounting it dead center the 4cm shorter tail doesnt justify the 6 instead of 5 seconds it will take me to do a kick turn.
on another note I AM SOOOO FUCKING PHYSCED RIGHT NOW!!!!
What Pow Goat said. I'm not concerned about time, just trying to avoid the rage and feelings of inadequacies that comes from stepping on my tails mid corner. Fuck does that suck.
Im thinking 103, -1 from the full size rig. Was there more tail rocker on the wootest compared to the current protest?
Or take them home to keep them from cheating on me with you. ;) Of course you can give them a try once it snows.
I have the same concerns about dyanfit pullouts. I just don't like the toe mount pattern, it just seems to small to spread the forces. I tried the dynadukes first and am now on solyfits. I did not love the stack height of the dukes and they were heavier than the 914's I use now. Dukes plus light skis(DPS pures) were not a combo I loved. Though I did enjoy the hell out of it for a few seasons. I would do inserts if I was not so nervous about the toe mount pattern.
BTW I was able to put the sollyfits into the same holes as the dynadukes and still fit my boot.
All you suckas gonna be jealous of my topsheets!

TAXI!!!!!!
:wink:
one of a kind...super cool.:yourock:
Maybe we could send out a local NM mag to "help change his mind"?:biggrin:
It looks like Keith decided to continue selling the Woo past the 12th deadline under the 'beta ski' description? That would be awesome because I've been getting a lot of interest from my friends about these skis...of course I have been talking about them incessantly so maybe they are feinding interest to shut me up:biggrin:
also want to add that Keith has been awesome with my email questions, and answered them promptly
Wow, the yellow taxi looks pretty rad on the ski, sort of wish I would have gotten that top sheet!
