8-10" @ the bottom of Kirkwood already. Hope to see more fall today.
Mine too... although I'm afraid that might be more due to failure to exercise during the off-season than to any turgidity.
and so it begins again...just woke up to 2" in Tahoe/Donner.
do first turns for the season count if you make 'em on your driveway?
only if it's switch to the road

reported storm totals: 9" at the base, 12" at the summit
(i think the 22" summit figure is a typo)

FUCK YEAH!!!!
Damn, SB is claiming 9" at the base, 22" at the top. Not bad for early October.
So how fast until this melts and we can get back to the regularly scheduled fall programing of eekking out another month or so of High Sierra Granite? Ugh - this kinda messed up some late fall climbing objectives. Oh well.
Nice !!!
Any one Kirkwood tomorrow, or SB?
Esme was found in the middle of the road, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere. She was covered in dread locks and couldn't walk. She had cuts all over her face. I took her to the vet and the x-rays showed a broken pelvis. 6 weeks of rest in a crate and this week she cut loose playin'.
Today's walk was a little snowier.

I just bagged my first turns for 2011/2012 on Sunrise Bowl at noon...
Rad thanks guys. Crazy what a little bit of snow does to this place!
Well this about seals it. I think I'm probably going to have to head up to Kirkwood tomorrow morning. I can't say i've missed the early drives up 88 in the snow.
splitter- your dog is so cute! good on ya for saving her and getting the care she needed. any idea how old she is?
Chair 5 is spinning on the kirkwood cam lol.
Dam.
Earliest snow since 1969 for Tahoe and shortest duration between snowfalls; with the last one occurring July 1st. according to this article:
http://investmentwatchblog.com/earli...oe-since-1969/
Now, of course that probably means Tahoe won't see anything over an inch for a month; but its still awesome.
If October to July ski seasons are going to be the norm, I can live with that.
Hey UCL, Don't worry there is Still some climbing left , This To Shall Pass, Barry O somewhere in socal
