For those who remember or care about my original thread, I deleted it as it had just turned into a place for my frustrated rants and Orthoski's increasingly condescending replies, and it was getting embarrassing.

For the record however, I think I have a final read on the situation after visiting a specialist in Baltimore, 10 weeks after the surgery. After making a lot of noise I had gotten back in to see the original surgeon instead of the PA, and convinced him to get an MRI to see why there was so much retraction in the muscle after his repair. The MRI report said I had retorn the tendon with a 1.2 cm retraction, and that I had also torn the distal end of the bicep muscle itself where it joins the tendon.

The surgeon dismissed the report of the tear as obviously wrong because the tendon was clearly attached. It could be felt and I had rotation of the hand. He blamed the muscle tear for the appearance. I got him to recommend the specialist to see if anything could be done to rebuild the torn muscle, as this is difficult and he wouldn't do it.

The specialist disagreed with my surgeon. He said yes indeed the tendon reattachment had been torn shortly after surgery, but had reattached with scar tissue to "something", although probably not the bone as there was significant retraction. It was functional. It might give problems in the future depending on what I did with it, and if so he might be able to properly reattach it to the bone. However since 2 months had now passed doing so would require a tendon graft. Nothing would improve the appearance because the muscle was permanently retracted. Whatever there was of a muscle tear was probably not a significant contributor to the problem.

The salt that I did not need in this wound is that this is everything I have been worried about for the past two months, that no one would listen to. But I'm the one with the fucked arm now.

Just came off a bout of food poisoning after fighting a bad ass cold for a week. It was brutal. I think my soft scrambled eggs were the culprit. As anyone who has experienced food poisoning knows, it's like being a cannon that fires out both ends. I couldn't move and slept 36 hours, waking only to puke and squirt. My girlfriend consulted with the local natural foods guru and he recommended four doses of megadophillus (tablespoon in non-chlorinated water) every 45 minutes and it worked like a champ. Within an hour I felt better and now, 12 hours later, it's done. Didn't know where to pass along this excellent piece of advice but figured the gimp forum would be a good place. Damn, between these two ailments I have been down for 12 days. I don't think I've ever been sick that long.

Right at the front of the shin, where there's no muscle or meat for cushion, similar to a forehead. Problem is, it's right at boot top level. So how long do you figure till I can ski again? Any way to make it subside faster?

I had a Hip MRI Arthogram yesterday and received the results on a disc but unfortunately don't see the ortho again for a month for the results. Wondering if anyone has any idea of what they are looking at and can take a peak? He looked at my xray and said FAI for sure with a pincer shaped bone but was waiting to see about a very possible tear. You might have to zoom in, sorry.
