Late May to mid June I am planning to do a road ride that starts in Empire and ends in Boulder. Its 170 miles and takes a couple days.

Day One: Empire - Estes Park 110 miles
This day is pretty ruthless. Start in Empire, ride over Berthoud and then on through RMNP over a few more passes and ending in Estes.

Spend the night: I am most likely getting a room in Estes as I dont want to carry the gear to camp out. If enough people show interest we can stay at the Stanley and do a large room occupancy to keep the cost low.

Day Two: Estes Park - Boulder 60 miles
This day is much easier than the first. Start in Estes, ride CO 7 to peak to peak then down through Ward, over Lee Hill and home in Boulder.

If anyone wants to join in but can only do it on specific weekends post up. I am flexible and would like to get a posse together to make this ride even more fun.

"You are F'n crazy brother!!"

good luck, when you want to do some more tame mtn riding, let me know. I'll pick you up and we'll go back out to Hall or Walker.

I'm in!!

Throw out some dates and we'll coordinate. The only thing I don't like is the whole shuttle from Boulder to Empire thing but it's only a little over an hour. I've got a couple of long road rides in the planning stages also. I'll post some details as they start to take shape.

fyi - May 22&23 is a no go for me.

I think the two weekends below are good choices. Everyone has ripped the late snowfall that could possibly keep the RMNP road closed through later May. Memorial Day Weekend is not a good choice as it is a high traffic day and there will be plenty of RV's in the park to run everyone over.

June 12 - 13
June 19 - 20

As for the shuttle to the starting point, I think I could convince my girlfriend to provide transportation, or maybe someone else could.

Both of those weekends are OK by me but I'm leaning toward the 12 & 13th. I have at least one and maybe two others interested in joining us (both strong riders). Cool about the possible shuttle ride.

For those interested, I got some elevation info for the ride.

Three passes to be ridden, all in day one:
Berthoud Pass: 11,307
Milner Pass: 10,758
Fall River Pass: 12,152

I am trying to get a hold of elevation of an elevation profile for the roads that will be taken but I am having a hard time. Does anyone know of a website that would have the info. I have tried CDOT, and RMNP.

I know I spoke with at least one maggot that was interested in doing this ride. I am doing it this weekend, the 12th and 13th. Let me know if anyone is in.

I have made sleeping arrangements with my girlfriend who is meeting me in estes park so maggots are on their own for sleeping quarters.
