That's always surprised me. Few maggots who call either Whistler or Crested Butte their home hill.

Indeed - it's becoming more of a home to me each year. I anticipate hitting Whistler at least 4 times (for three day weekends) this season. Very psyched!!!

Tell me about it. I'll post about my glorious arrival in Canada when the time gets closer. I'll have to ditch my gaper, knuckledragger friends at least one day.

Plane tickets are booked for 1st two weeks in March, but undecided as to how to split time between Whistler and Baker. A mini-summitt could make that decision easier - love to meet some of the minions/maggots for some turns.

Seems to me that when ever we would get a magg from whistler they would ether be a total ass. ("Ohhhh man, my town is so much better then yours, I get to ski maybe 3 days a week. I have a car even. Sucka foos.") Or to snoby and rich to fit in with us.

Whistler has been my local hill since I was 8. It's changed a lot in 20 years, but it's still my home.

Sounds like you haven't met that many people from Whistler. I'm far from rich (That's why I live in Vancouver) always try to show new people what the mountain has to offer (within reason). A lot of people up there are the same way. The true Whistler locals are very friendly and laid back.

Milkman, you know a Dave Morris. His background is pretty similar to yours - I lost track of him a few years ago when I moved to the other side of the rocks and would like to catch up with him.
Ignore if this strikes you as a "Hey, you're from Canada - do you know..." type of question.
Sorry for the hijack.

Most Canadians don't know how to use computers yet, and the rest are too stoned to help anybody else out.

Come on BakerBoy, you know that Bellingham and MT Baker are really just a parts of Canada don't you? Doesn't Baker take CDN money at par?

Whats worse being stoned or drunk?

That's easy. Stoned and drunk and DINMS is the worst.
Baker used to do "On-Par Mondays", but its been reduced to one day a season now. Funny, it also happens to be the same day as the bonfire for the Legendary Banked Slalom - I guess the Howatts need some paper to start the fire with. :p

Josh bu hoo. YOO brutha> We are all out there enjoying the mountains, no need to get personal or (sterotypical). Ya you may have had a bad experience at Whistler (if you were ever here) , but there are alot of good people in this town and a shit load of rippers.
I thought maggots (minons) stuck together.
United we stand, divided we fall.
I will solely change your attitude of the place, give it a try.
And DINMS? Dude I had a chance for you set up on a mountaineering shoot, helis, beer, food and cash in Whistler and you dis the town like you did?
What up?

Eh? Me? Yes, I HAVE had bad expirences at Whistler. I once crashed at a friends place (in Whistler) for 2 weeks only to find that they were dealing a shit load of drugs and counterft lift tickets.
Plus, I talked to probably 2 dozens people (through my friend) and none of them would ride with me (excuses: no pow, low viz, etc...) I spent 2 weeks skiing by myself.
BUT If ya re-read the thread, you'll find that I still got nothing bad to say about the place in general. I gave it a big thumbs up for the new snow!
So I don't undertand your post? <confused>
