Headed east two weeks ago this coming Saturday with a buddy from the coast for some fall streamer action. Started out at the A section of the Green for a couple days. Beautifull weather, except for the three inches we got the first day there. Waited for the blizzard to pass then walked up from Little Hole for some late evening brownie hijinx!

Stopped at Sheep Creek to admire the fall colors and find one lonely Kok on the Redds

Started each day early at the dam. Would hit the deep holes up top. Let the wind pick up, the cattle boats go by, and get off the water at Little Hole last of anyone...including the waders.

Always fun to try to trick the well versed guys in the slow eddies.

Just when the arms are tired from casting, stripping, sipping Pendelton, chugging Cutthroat, and the wind, here come the rock gardens. Not tough, just enough to keep you on your toes in low-light.

Typical A section catches throughout. A few nicer browns and cuttbows on ginger buggers and droppers off the Chernobles. Always fun the get the top water guys along the bank. I think this one took a Chernobyle around dusk. Then it was on with the buggers, double bunnies and my new dark favorite- Rainey's Sex Dungeon!
We blew out of Flaming Gorge country on Wed. morningand headed to my favorite, let it all fall off spot in the state- Six Lakes in Altamont. Yeah, its pay per play but it has what I need in the way of quiet, samll water full of fat browns, brookies, tiger trout (Brookie and Brown cross), triploid rainbows, cuttbows, etc... Its no gimme by any means, they turn off big time at times and you have to work for them. But with lakeside accomodations and fat trout steps from the bunkhouse I love it. I'm a fan of the classic lazy lake fishing with indicator nymph rigs, dry droppers, or just lazily trolling around a streamer. And yes, it has six small lakes you usually can have one to yourself.

Upon leaving, we were reminded to play, play, play 'cause it could be over soon!
Next stop on Friday was Strawberry. Had to get m buddy on the big Bear Lake Cutts. Walking into Strawberry Bay Marina we saw several stringers of 3-5 pound cutts going by. Small steelhead size in most books...it was windy, cold, blustery...typical fall at the "Berry. Saw a little more Kok action here that that coming out of Flaming Gorge.
