Converting VOB ---> MOV or MPEG format on a mac

Anyone know how to do this? I downloaded MPEG Streamclip and when I tried to open the VOB file in the window, it acted like it was opening, but nothing would show up in the window. From there I tried converting the VOB file to MPEG format and it told me it could not perform the action. Any ideas, tips, or know of any free software that can help me?

Make a duplicate.
Select the duplicate.
Apple-I
Under the "Name and Extension" selction change the .VOB to .mpg
Open in quicktime.

I had a similar issue and was able to play it w/ some software called VLC off of VersionTracker. Can't remember if I was eventually able to convert to mpg/mov format though.

Try MPEG Streamclip, though I don't use it for VOB, the docs say it will work with it:

vlc should play it just fine.

visualhub will convert just about anything to anything else. Not free, but easy enough to pirate if that's the kind of person you are.
