Yeah, saw him tonight standing right in front of the stage and it was amazing. Guitar, bass, drums. Also amazing was talking to people who came to see the opening band the All Nighters, really good local band, and didn't have a clue who Dick Dale was.
My ears will be ringing for awhile.

One of the greatest. I was wondering where he was these days. Was he supporting a new CD?

Saw him last time he was at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle and yes, he has a relativly new album out called Spacial Disorientation.

The guy is still rocking hard and making new music as well as playing the old.

I love the guy and all, but he has played the same show every time I've seen him. Down to the jokes and crowd banter, the walk outside with the wireless pickup, etc.

That said, he is a legend. And you can tell that the young guys who are playing with him are in awe. He's definitely worth seeing once.

I saw him back in high school and was totally in awe...the guy is just an amazing guitarist. I wish he wouldn't sing so much though...I could just hear the guitar all night and be happy....

Saw him years ago in Huntington Beach. The ultimate surf guitarist in the ultimate surf town. It was a great show.

He only sang a couple times, played the trumpet on one tune, the rest was pure power guitar.

Music is schweet, but the dude is a dick, at least to me and my friends. He played some shows with a few of the bands on Skunk records back in the day in my neck of the woods (Bay Area)- Slightly Stoopid, Sublime. Some of the guys from those bands would come by my house, and Dale came in tow one time. He came willingly, was offered beer and drugs as any guest would be offered, and acted like a bag of dicks the whole time he was there. Doesn't stop me from liking his axe wailing however.

Wasn't he, like, 60 at the time? What did you expect? He was going to sit down with the Playstation controls for a few hours and then watch South Park before the pizza came?

He willingly came to a college house on a Friday night. I didn't expect demands for Metamucil and some "peace and quiet." Not to mention, his cohorts were inveterate hell-raisers.
