I was floating the South Fork of the Boise the middle of June and came upon on this. The people that where in the boat took a swim and one guy suffered from hypothermia but turned out ok.

Edit for focus. :)

probably hit a rock broad side and stuffed the upstream rail. not as uncommon as you would think.

i had a friend do it on the Yellowstone a couple years ago. he went back to salvage with a truck and a winch. he was carrying a rope out to his boat and kept dropping it. so this brilliant mother fucker decided to tie the rope around his waist and try again.

got swept off his feet, pushed downstream. the rope wrapped around a rock and he nearly drowned. he did eventually get his boat back though.

SF - I am gonna be in Boise for the better part of 3 weeks starting 9/24. Not planning on bringing my boat but I will be looking for some local beta or fishing partners...favors will be returned.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Was the water boiling or what? [/smartass]

*hyperthermia is what happens when you get heatstroke....hypothermia is when you get really cold, like when you make a jong move like that and dump your boat in a freezing, raging river.

I am pretty sure that is what happened. I wasn't there when it happened but that is what it looks like to me.

Shoot me a PM when you get here and we can take my boat out if the South Fork if it's still flowing if not there is still plenty of fishing to be done.
