I've never been to AK, but I hear the mosquitoes are absolutely awful in the summer time.

I'm not in any of them, I don't fit the rockstar or old white guy demographic.

I plan on fishing upper Charlotte harbor next week for Snook if your interested.

P.S. The mosquito's in AK would get a beatdown from the ones in the Everglades . No comparision.

With the baby due in 4 weeks or so, trips more than 30 min. from home are frowned upon. I will get down there some day soon, though. I appreciate all the invites. It is just a crazy time right now, and the past year or so. Wedding, baby, home repairs- I don't know how I would get anything done if I actually lived in ski country.

Nice trip. Looks like a great time. You just happen to be there when all those guys were there? Or was that planned? I would love to meet Laird- even if he is a big dick, supposedly. Still gotta respect the guy, inflated ego or not.

The snook are biting here. I'm going out on the full moon Mon. Night. Hopefully a report worthy outing. I haven't had too many. They closed down our money pier for repairs, so we are lost on where to find the 40+ inchers. We'll find 'em eventually.

I work for CPG so I was at the lodge the whole K&C period ( 6 weeks)

About Laird, when I first met him up there last March he went out of his way to introduce himself to everyone and had no air of pretense at all.

I was around him for a week this June and I can say he operates on a different level than most people. It never really gets dark there and it wasn't uncommon for him to be on his paddle board at 1-2 in the morning paddling at full speed around the lake after snowboarding all day. Then be the first one at breakfast.

If you look at the pic of O.N.S. , in the background you'll see one of the paddle boards loaded on the heli. I forget the name of where They went but they dropped him off at one of the Glaciers and he paddled along the glacier wearing just his board shorts. He then took his paddle board down the Tal, when he hit parts that were shallow, he would spin the board around while standing on it and ride the nose so the fin wouldn't hit.
If you surf, you can appreciate how hard it is to take a surfboard down water that most people run in a kayak or raft. He also took his board in and surfed the tidal bore in Turnagain arm.

From my days as a yacht captain, I have run into a number of celebrities that were a little too much in love with themselves, he doesn't seem to be one of them.

Who knows how people really are, this was just my observation.

I have a torn ACL so no skiing for me, only fishing.

Watching people come back psyched about those big Tordrillo lines and not being able to go was a torture worthy of medieval times.

That woulda killed me. I fish mainly cause I can't ski here in FL. I can't imagine fishing while others are skiing. It is no contest in my mind.

Well, I know my situation, so I know how it CAN happen, but how the fuck did you end up in Florida? 6 weeks a year in AK would help, though.

Threats of death, no. I am smarter than that. Now is not the time to be testing her tolerance to my antics. If I am good now, there will be plenty of escape time later, or so I tell myself. I am neck deep in refinishing my Whaler, and putting a bedliner in my Jeep. Projects help.
