Me neither. I've never come across a genuine coke whore. Is this one step down from the exalted position of 'crack whore'?

I think coke whore is a step UP from crack whore, seeing as coke is more expensive than crack.

not sure what "toilet bowl" reference is about. please elaborate.

yea but that was about 15 years ago.

I assume the total bowl refers to making a porcelain phone connection.

Coke whore are indeed a step up from crack whores. Actually, many steps up. The heroin whores, meth whores, and ecstacy whores all rank somewhere in between.

Anyway, these two you speak of can be found just about anywhere. Just think about where they are the other 5 days of the week....

I don’t think I can count the number of times I’ve been in the bathroom of a bar in Banff, and some chick has asked me where to get some good coke. I guess I look like I’d know???

1. Stop hanging around the chick's bathroom.
2. Grab a coke and hang out with Banff's Most Fun Guys!

Good plan... although avoiding bathrooms could pose to be a problem.

Yeah, Powslut, I feel ya. We've got an awful lot of that going around here and it's pretty disgusting at times.

Kreitler listed "the womens restroom in Whiskey Jaques" (the bar where my roomie works) as one of the top 10 powder stashes in the world.

I hear ya powslut. There's more drugs here than college. What pisses me off more is when people accuse me of doing coke because I was acting "weird" or because I was rubbing my nose. Fack me, I'm quirky and I have allergies ok?!

Kreitler isn't the only one to be finding indoor pow stashes. B. Holmes has been known to ride the White Dragon around here often.

Powslut-I'm tired of all that shit in Vail and Summit too. When I tell them "no thanks" or that I don't do "powders", they look astonished and like I'm some square. I than tell them that coke is only one step away from crack, and than they tend to stfu.

No shit...

I wouldn't go with the "transients" bit when it comes to coke. Coke is still pretty expensive (unless you are skiing in South America) despite the market apparently being flooded. I would go with:

Ski towns = money -> coke use

When I lived in Verbier there were actually quite a lot f coke users. Almost entirely people with a lot of money. So actually I have been to a ski town with cokeheads. Forgot that winter in Verbier...

I guess having a big transient population would be pretty cloesely related to numbers of smokers though.

Same response in Vail, the no thanks gets a funny response up there, people think your a badge because you don't indulge.

Come on. Coke whores aren't that bad. In fact they're usually pretty fun as long as you're not in a living situation with one.

Granted too much exposure can wear thin. Sounds like it's time for a change in scenery.

just because it means nothing to you does not mean it is not occuring. there's no need to belittle the problem because you have not witnessed what could probably be considered a problem of epedemic proportions in all of the ski towns i have lived in or visited in western canada anyway. from some of the responses i assume the same is occuring in the US. the reason i vented (albeit drunkedly-toiletbowls? what the fuck?) was because it is getting increasingly frustrating to watch friends and aquaintences who definately do not have the means to support a habit getting further into debt and alienating others because they love hitting the devil's dandruff.

I know what you mean. A few years ago everyone here was doing some cheap heroine type drug (riddelin mixed with something), but now that is completely gone, and replaced with a huge cocaine problem. Basically every break-in we have in our city is people looking for money/property to sell for drugs.

I have a few friends who complain about having no money, yet can afford to do coke.

Absolutely false. Cocaine can stop your heart the first "bump" you do.

Meth is nasty too. My response when I'm offered it? Nah, I don't do anything made in a trailer. <insert girlfriend or Mom joke here>

I've never seen anyone use it or have been offered it ever in my life. I'm sure it's in my town, but you guys need to check who you hang out with. It's not an epidemic or an issue among the people I know in MT, BC, UT, CO, CA, etc and my friends are nowhere near saints themselves.

Agreed. I've never run into it anywhere and I run with a rowdy crowd as well.

Although, I have been asked "just how much cocaine have you had?" when people see me drunk on RBVs.

Wait I guess when I was a kid we found some cocaine, wine, harlequin romance novels, some dildos and vaseline hidden by one of my friends (LDS) mom. She later skipped town and became a lesbian.

Do we need to get you a blonde wig and some falsies there MacD?!:D

Ski towns full of pleasure seeking trust-funders with nothing better to do than party, open up stupid trinket shops or trendy restaurants managed by cokehead buddies, party more, piss away daddy's cash, pose on the deck of the lodge during spring, possibly ski once in a blue moon...amazing that coke is ongoing resident in those communities.

Edit- Did I say I hate all fakking ass mouths who ever produced a grain of meth? Well, I hate all fakking ass-much, low-life, pond scum, leech bastards who cook this crap up in their rented mobile home toilets and push it on the rest of the world. Every one of the individuals producing or dealing this crap deserves to die now.

Sad thing is powslut, alot of the ones hammered by coke, meth whatever can't be helped until its too late...they have to fall all the way down before getting back up. Kudos to you though if yoy try...not neccesarily succeed, 'cause thats a tough job. But, just trying can make an effort in the long run. Those you care about might just remember that and have your compassion and concern to build upon when they hit the bottom. They've got to want it too...

An inquest into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of fallen Italian cycling hero Marco Pantani has found that he died of a cocaine overdose, the Ansa news agency reported Friday.

"The death of Marco Pantani was caused by acute cocaine intoxication," according to the draft report by doctor Giuseppe Fortuni for prosecutor Paolo Gengarelli.

The report found that there was not enough evidence to support the theory of suicide and that Pantani died as a result of swelling to the brain and lung tissue as a result of cocaine poisoning.

"Acute cocaine intoxication provoked a pulmonary and cerebral oedema (fluid) which were the cause of death," the report concluded. "There are no concrete elements to support the hypothesis of suicide." The complete report is to be published in two weeks, according to Reuters.

Pantani, 34, was found dead in a Rimini hotel room on February 14, and several packets of half-empty sedatives were found near his body. The Italian was also known to have had a cocaine habit, and police have been searching for suspects who may have supplied him with the drug.

Pantani's death shocked the whole of Italy and the cycling world. At his funeral thousands of fans turned up to pay their last respects to a rider who, after spectacularly winning the Tour de France and Giro d'Italia in 1998, spent his last years defending himself against doping allegations.

Pantani was dramatically thrown off the 1999 Giro for having an abnormally high hematocrit - an indication, although not proof, of the presence of the blood-boosting drug EPO. -Copyright 2004/AFP

We have blue lights here - you can't find a vein under that light. Cheap and easy solution - stopped all the junkies from shooting up in public buildings. Pretty sad though. We still get syringes thrown into the shared garden of our building from a popular smack-head shoot-up spot in the churchyard next door. Fucked up.

Apparently the new drug of choice among the down-and-out community here is crack though. Guess we have nothing to worry aboub then.
