The Race: tons of fish BIG fish, but not feeding, at all.
The wire draggers looked bored.
The jig yankers couldn't catch a bluefish to save their lives and charter.
The fly guys did ok.... more fish than anyone else.
The tuna are there but parked down deep and not eating, must be a front or something coming through. Bait chuckers must have been getting stinky. :D
Topwater produced closer to the mainland with a couple teens bass taken.

Great reports and that is exactly what I have been hearing. How about the 65# striper speared? Crazy new world record. That little fish in the picture went back in the drink I hope  That one just arrived had the migratory sea lice I see.

Sea lice - Is that what those little things are? ...look like tiny little skate babies... I caught a short stiper at BI with the same on it...

yup... sea lice.
they pick em up in deeper water... don't really do anything to the fish but start dropping off in warmer water.

Big fish being had on the North Shore as well, even Blues moving in a bit early up here as well. 35ish is a good # to eat for dinner, way to get after em'!

You could just feel the hate rays coming from the wire jerkers with clients towards the guys catching fish on the fly. :the_finge

Tis a good feeling. Enjoy it.
Unfortunately, here we have the tower boats. Fuckers will intentionally run full speed through a flat just to fuck it up for the rest of us. I have a personal vendetta with a certain light blue Gause Built like this one:

The bastard has run up on me a couple of times now.
I would love to lay into a big Snook while his customers went dry.

Sea Lice are how you know that salmon are fresh in these parts, doesn't fly fishing work better than anything else usually?

Thats the PERFECT setup I've been looking for, but at 50k for a USED 23...
:( :nonono2:
Guess I'll keep looking for an early 80's inboard Mako to convert to a turbo diesel.
More trashed wood:

Fly Fishing is fun but not the best way to catch fish on this side of the pond.
