OK, let's see a pick of where you call home. I'll start, this is the Kinni in River Falls WI. Less than an hour from home and a natrulally reproducing pop of browns with a 3000 fish per mile avg. The downside is with that many fish, the bigger ones are few and far between but the upside is constant action and a great place to take the kids to "hook" them on the sport.

Hartwell Lake. This was taken from the dam (as you can see). That is the beginning of the Savannah River on the front side.

I usually fish for largemouth bass. There is a very good population of stripers here, state record came from Hartwell, as well as crappie and bream. The bream are good for kids because you can catch them so wasily.

The state record rainbow trout came from the river just by that bridge in the picture. Well an old record anyway, it has been broken a few times since.

Well unfortunately for me the river I call home is over 1500 miles away from me right now..... one of the offshoots of the Robe River in Valdez AK.

Salmon so thick you have to step over them to get to the good stuff.

God I miss that right now.

I really need to get out fishing in oregon.

Our "home" waters. Beverly/Salem/Marblehead harbors, Cape Ann (Manchester, Gloucester, Essex, etc). Our boat is docked right under the "A" in Beverly, MA in the middle prong of the fork (Danvers River), and my buddy's boat (Jay's Dip Powcher) is docked right at the "G" in Gloucester.

As a side note. If any of you followed the news coverage of the explosion in Danvers a few months ago, that Marina they kept showing right next to the chemical plant that exploded is where our boat slip is. Luckily it wasn't there at the time.

Nice, move from one fishing Mecca to another, good job! I'll track down some info and contact stuff, my neighbor here in MN is also a guide in Bozeman in the summer. I'll pick his brain about a couple areas to hit close to you that would be good for a beginner in the area.

As for L of the W, spend a week each summer on Flag Island, love that place.

ive got no pictures but when I lived in Atlanta, it was the Chatahoochee.

When I lived in NC, it was a combination of a few rivers all 15 minutes away.
Tuckaseegee, Nanthahala, and the Hiawasee. I was always shocked how different each river fished and they were so close.

Now I suppose its the S Platte being its 5 mins from my place.

I don't, but if you happen to know the Barry's from the Barnstable area and of Frog Pond Marine at Cuttyhunk, James Barry the dad, AJ Barry the adopted son...let me know.

My only relation to the area is that my mother belongs to Barney's Joy, the beach owned by a Scottish family (MacDonald?) and we have been going there for about 15-20 years (shit time flies). I don't know anyone from the area though.

By the way, i won't be in RI this weekend after all :cussing: , but I'll be in the area again the weekend of May 29th.

I could just use Devo's pic for my home waters, Marblehead, Beverly, Nahant, Glouchester, Rockport, Essex...that whole area.

Jay and Devo, you guys must know the two towers off Glouchester, my buddy went to a fishing seminar at the portsmouth brewery in NH and was told that there is alot of tuna to be caught off there. You guys fish for tuna or just stripers and blues? Ever hear of tuna being caught sorta near-shore around those parts?

got mah new Ugly Stick 7 footah taday from Cabela's facking STOKED for the season to start!!! (especially since last season I had 4 keeper stripahs but my other buddy caught a monster 40 inch stripah. gotta go for quality over quantity!!) (though quantity is fun too)

Mc Cloud river. One of my parents friends helped build the Nature Conservancy's cabin right on the river so we were able to stay right on the river and were guaranteed tags for fishing (only 10 people allowed to fish per day on something like 10 miles of river). haven't been there in a few years, but that river will always be home to me.

I've never heard of tuna being caught there, but I havn't fished there in 20 years, it was always good for stripers and blues though.

with the madison, gallatin, east gally, yellowstone and a few fun creeks and lakes within an hour drive, it's hard to pick a 'home' water.

but since bozeman creek runs right through my backyard, i guess i'll call that home.

Our secret spot... 20 min outside Boston.

This private pond is about 5 min from my house, my buddies from highschool and I have been pulling out lunkers for the past 8 years without any competition. This past summer I took out a 7.5 and an 8 pounder in two days (along with the normal 3-10 bass I get on average in a 3 hour afternoon)

Its my favorite spot in the world that isn't covered in snow, and one of the few reasons I still spend time in MA during the summers.
