Mind the Addiction

I just finished watching Mind the Addiction for the millionth time... it never gets boring. The intro to it is my favorite intro to any movie ever. The powder section with gordy and swany is beautiful and sooo soulful. Micah Black and Kent Kreitler just fucking go OFF... I am so stoked for the ski season.

I just wanted to give TGR props for coming out with amazing movies on such a consistent basis. Thanks for getting me so stoked for the ski season!!!

Also, I hate you all, because now I want to go skiing desperately, but I can't. :)

Yes, a great flick. I think I've watched the part with Micah and Dead or Alive playing in the background a million times. I have a tough time deciding which is better. The skiing, or the song. Just kidding, the song is waaaaayy better. ;) :D

I was just about to put that on. I could watch that Gordy/Swany seg over and and over. But unlike Castro^ I could do without the Jovi. The world would be a much better place if JonBon had been borna mute.;)

yeah... calculated, my ass. I wonder where Rob Holmes is now? He's got huge balls, and probably a good amount of skill, but that wasn't skiing. That was just stupid, in my opinion.

How about Sage Cattabriga over Pyramid Gap? SICK. Was it him or Minecci that threw the D-Spin? Whoever it was, that was amazing.

That is definatly the besy Micah stuff we have cut. He fits the 80's rock vibe perfectly(known to rock a subtle mullet) Very sick riding stuff. Nice to here about the older flicks.

Anyone else have the MTA DVD? Whatever it is, when I put MTA in, I've got to crank my amp WAY up to get decent volume.

It's a small complaint, thought.

I think MTA is a great flick. I know it's sacrilige, but I think the best performance in MTA is Jeremey Jones. He's just butter on the most sphicter tighting lines. So smoove.

i dont gotta crank it up but when ya click on dolby, it goes stereo and vice versa. does everybody have that redline entertainment bullshit in the beginning or is it just cause i bought the thing at best buy a few years ago?

I have to crank up the volume too. Mountainman, the Redline stuff is because you bought it at Best Buy. I bought Further from Best Buy a few years ago and it was put out by Redline. It absolutly sucked because half the video had been edited out. I saw the premier at Emmerson in Bozeman and I thought the video rocked, but then I got the crap version. I was running short on cash at the time so I didn't pre-order it through here. That was a big mistake. The DVD was only like 40 minutes long. I later found out from ONS (i think) that they had some legal problems with some Ozzy songs in it (primarily Crazy Train) and had to re-cut the video by editing some of the segments with the song and change another song or something, so I basically got the stripped down version of the video from Redline.

Well that explains why I think Further is the worst ski movie ever...

If my copy of MTA was put out by Redline...does that mean the the soundtrack is different from the soundtrack TGR put on in?

mta is the film that got me to this website. it's probably the best snow dvd that i have so far.

max- i have that same redline edition. and your soundtrack list seems to be off. there are at least 3 different songs before bon jovi's cowboy. is that supposed to be in order?

the propellerheads section, up in the chugash, was my favorite part of that flick. so brooding, intimidating as it begins... love it.

must resist urge to further slack from studies by turning on the dvd again...

I'll throw another vote for MTA as my favorite ski flick that I've seen, it was actually the first one I got and I was addicted from the first spin in my computer... and true it doesn't get old (well there was that one month when we didn't have TV...)

and I'll throw another vote for the Gordy / Swany scene as my favorite... so surreal and sweet camera work... and yes that spearhead song is a great match, very soulful

IMHO Jeremy Jones might be the best slider of snow out there :eek:

Well, since this thread has made it to the front page again I'm going to have to give shout out for Uprising, still one of my most favorite movies ever made. I think I'm going to go watch it now. It will help me remeber why I started running again for the first time in 5 years. :D

Experienced a weird family bonding moment with MTA this weekend. My little sis let me borrow her husband’s copy two months ago. I still watch it like two times a week. The soundtrack is great and I wanted to buy some of the albums. Normally my sister and I have opposite tastes in everything, she snowboards of all things. However, talking to her this weekend, I found she liked the same songs I did from MTA, and had bought albums from Scapegoat Wax and Spearhead. Weirdness.

Oh yea, my (my sister’s) copy also has the problem with low volume.

Hating Bon Jovi is a commendable past time. However I noticed they linked the lyric “were the faces are so cold” with a shot of a Teton peak face. Also the lyric “on an iron horse I ride” is shown with a few shots of the Tram.
