Any info running around on choosing IS vs. non-IS lenses?
Specifically interested in Canon 70-200 f/2.8.
Saw in this link (http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58386&highlight=canon+lense) that mtbakerskier is in favor of non-IS, I suppose it has less moving parts which always equals better in my mind.
Lens will be for taking shows of skiing, birds, scenery, and pretty things.
Thanks for all the info/links!

I have found www.TheDigitalPicture.com to be very useful. Every Canon lens and camera reviewed (by the same guy), along with sample pictures, etc.

There is a ton of good information in there! It's not brand specific either. Thanks LeeLau.

The IS vs. non-IS debate often boils down to what you shoot. So what are you using the lens for? If it's sports and fast moving objects, people often say that IS is useless as the shutter speed should be high enough to negate the IS (Right?). However if you're shooting slower objects with possibly a slower shutter speed, then IS might be beneficial.
