Ummm so we haven't set a date for the EC mini yet fuckers,

My vote is somewhere in the PNW, but if we have to stay on the EC where the fuck should we have this thing? Weather's gonna turn around I can feel it:rolleyes:

Just because I got a place to stay there this season, Whiteface (or Gore).

If it is not in Colorado or Utah....then it should be on one of these Sailboats that keep popping up. :fmicon:

how about in the carribean?

steve

killington. it has by far the most open terrain.. so if this season doesn't turn around, at least it'll have the most variety.

disclaimer - k is where my house is, so I am a little biased. but I think I have a good point.

Jay.

I got up there last year, but the conditions weren't great. It not the mountain's fault, and I could see the potential up top, but it was disappointing. Getting turns in is fun no matter what, but it is long way to drive if conditions are similar at other resorts. How often have the trails up top opened up?

not at liberty to let people sleep here.. but if this weather pattern holds, jay is going to suck like the rest of the NE.

If we decide on Killingtime as the location, I could offer up my place in Ludlow where Ullrfest was held (provided it's not a holiday weekend). It sleeps 10-12 in beds, and as many as can fit on the floor. :)

It's about 1/2 hour from K and I guess commutable to MRG and Sugarbush (add another 1/2 hr to that methinks).

the mini was at jay last year at which I permenantly disfigured my leg on a submerged pine bough and got stuck for about 8 minutes in a tree well on the second run of the day. It was waist deep and I had to call it quits at 12:00. Even so it was a good day. Fuck that hurt.

plenty of room - and, allowing people to camp out in the yard wasn't covered in the house rules. (:

Fucking aliens, always infecting the little guy.

As for mini locations, last 3 have been Jay, Stowe, K/MRG, so....sugarloaf?

Who would be into a whiteface / adk backcountry festival mini? Tech. we could all rent a large house in the keene area, ski whiteface and tour in the ADK's. It would be a change of pace.

If not then my vote is for Jay again. or the mad bush combo.

I vote Whiteface too :) There's a great spot with a $62/night ski/stay package that is right in Lake Placid.

Besides, it's only, like, 2-and-a-half-hours from NYC, right CUBUCK?

I say Nashoba, cause its close to my house. Honestly, I dont give a shit where we go, but Jay would be sweet if the weather is decent, or Killington is good too. Just dont let Willy decide cause we will end up at Gunstock. Or Brazil.

I can ski (probably not well enough to keep up) but I prefer not to give my $ to MRG with their assholish attitude toward people who prefer to go down the hill sideways.

the thing about MRG (as opposed to a place like deer valley) is that, like the packers, it's owned by the community.. and nobody is allowed to have too many shares.

Is there a date for this yet? or are we just waiting till there's more than one resort with top-to-bottom skiing in the east?

SpriteIn true Maggot spirit- that gets MY vote ! Prob the best ASC hill to put this together. Have inflatible mattress, will travel.

Gunstock is STILL legit in my book.Hit stop and shop and "stock" up on perogies for dinner and everybuddy rides for free. Good option for those non ASC pass peeps.
I almost missed this thread btw, thanks TEX.
Looking forward to meeting all y'all. Good people here, fo' sho !

Don't even get me started on Brasil, I've been down there for 3 weeks in Feb before and it just keeps snowing back home. ...and that really hurts !

For the record, the only reason they were banned in the first place was 1. they kept throwing the single off the rails and 2. Before it was a co-op, a bunch of snowboarders kept hassling the owner for closing the single (due to 1) to snowboarders, so they were banned altogether.

As a longtime Jay passholder... Jay is the $ when it snows, but teh suXXor when conditions are not-so-good. I can't actually go skiing until March, but hey, just my $0.02.

Sugarbush seems to be doing well this season...

I can make any date that are not between march 5th and 25th. Also, I have extra trekkers and skins if people want to go into the BC but don't have the gear.
